Just broke air box
Yup, I did it..... trying to gut it. I was using a hole saw to try and get through the material quickly, but the bit grabbed the box, spun it, and broke off the hole where the fingers of the airfilter cover hold into the main part of the box..... It doesnt hold too well. So i'll let you guys know what I come up with for a hillbillied CAI so I can get home. I got some stuff here at work that looks like I can make it work.

Yeah...... a wee bit outta the budget.... have no fear, uni-versal CAI kit has come to the rescue for now. Not a permanant stay though, kinda hokey, and no pics cause I feel ashamed.... unless someone wants to see it, gotta wait till im copletely done, I hate chrome so its gotta get covered with something. I ran outta time tonight, too much research and development time. I dont know if this really actually belongs in performance and brainstorming now..... dont know of actual performance gains, but man does that tube and cone filter make that supercharger charger sing a beutiful song....... havent smiled that big since the first time I mash the pedal!!!

This is sort of a moot point now, but the easiest way to get that material out of the airbox is to drill out the plastic welds with an 3/8" drill bit IMO. Quick, clean, and efficient.

I wont be able to work on it this weekend. heading up to South Haven, MI. See post in general chat. I painted the pipe though, looks a lot better, a nice machine gray. I am also working a setup to direct more air to the filter area. Took a que from willwren with a post he did about lowering underhood temps and IAT.

Heres what I came up with to get me by for now.....bigger filter coming very very soon! Works pretty welll at keeping some of the heat back, noticable differance when you put hand on one side then the other.
The PCM is just zipp tied right now, Im gonna make a bracket for it at work.
