Yea, put it close to the filter as possible. You can see I moved mine a good half a foot up from stock location. Had to drill a new hole though, but not really a problem.

how big was the hole that you drilled and what did you use to seal it? I just got the same pipe that you have twister.

I really did not take measurements, I did it by a touch and feel. I would drill it out a little bit, then test it. Finally until the sensor barely squeezed in there. I have two rubber grommets holding it in. One is on the inside and the other is on the outside, which you can see by the photo. The grommets I picked up as a variety pack and just made the small ones big enough to fit over the sensor. No leaks and they are still on there, so at least it works.

Pretty close to the TB thus heat will get to it, like you mentioned above. But one hole is too long and skinny, the other hole is to small. Of course you can make them bigger and then make it work. The series two engines, at least my problem, is that the intake will not fit with a filter unless you cut about an inch or two from the end.

The crossover pipe for the exhaust manifold is right under the TB. The closer you get to it, the hotter the air gets, it'* drastic by inches. If you have a shorter intake, you're sucking in more of that air, and you're actualy behind the radiator more. The stock airboxes are made to collect air behind the headlights for a reason.

A longer pipe will keep the air smoother and more even/laminar. The shorter one pictured will have more riding the outside of the turn when it hits the MAF/Intake plenum.

The short one looks like the $40 ebay special that'* a generic 3800 intake. The problem with that is, they have to be short to fit in GP, but they aren't long enough to get colder air in a Bonnie.

what the heck is a grommet twister? i might have some laying around but I dont know what to look for. I was thinking about using some silicone sealant but i dont if it will hold up to the heat.

A Grommet is alittle rubber peice like on the inside of a faucet. Mine may be cheap on E-bay but proven to work just as well as a K&N. The Japs know their stuff! I am still going to add a K&N filter, and the pipe does not matter what brand...it just a friggen pipe!!!!!!!!!! Twister and I both are also working on a duct system to feed "cool" air!

Exactly right. The one on the left I used for the inside of the intake, the one on the right I used for the oustide of the tube.

i just did mine with the rice pipe, I used one of the grommets that the pipe came wiht. I had to cut the pipe like 6" to get the filter to fit. How did you get it to fit Twister? I had a long cylindrical k&n filter. I have alot of space by the front open to cool air by the radiator and by the headlights so i dont think cold air will be a problem.
