I've had mine to the rev-limiter, which is 108 I believe. I was racing a WRX, I got beat of course but he wasn't really leaving me in the dust untill I hit the rev.

Had my ZX-6 to 160 a few years back. Had a friend'* ZX-6 to 145 last month. That fastest I'd gone in a car in the past was 145 in my old Quad4.

The HUD and wheel speed sensors are limited to 159 mph....so the book says.

You have to be careful with the limiter because it will kick down into 3rd gear under 128 mph and then the 108 mph 3rd gear limiter will arrest your speed.
Careful throttle application in 4th will see it go up to the 4th gear limiter of 128.

I can hardly wait to get rid of those pesky limiters.
Something must have changed.....I know from our northern friends, the HUD resets at 200kph. You'd think the Mph would do the same? Your book actually says the Hud is limited to 159? I think drag and my tires would prevent me from seeing that speed anyway, but it'* kinda disappointing to know that!

Resets at 200 kph???
Mine has gone up to 210 kph which is the 128 mph limit.
I prefer to switch it over to mph though when I do high speed runs. Love that 220 mph gauge. The 2000+ models have a cool speedometer gauge that just has a light that switches from kph to mph and the needle moves to correspond to the switch. The dial reads 0 - 220. Are the pre-2000 models like that??
Yes the HUD and wheel speed sensors are limited to 159 mph, at least on the 2000+ models. That doesn't both me because I'll be more than happy to do 155.

There have been GTP members that have done 170 before, and it shows 170 on the HUD, it does not stop at 159 (although the Autotap does). Theoretical Top Speed in 4th is 255, and it is 155 in 3rd, but with cams, stronger valve springs, and stronger valve spring retainers, redlines can be raised and higher speeds can be achieved, which is how GTP members have done 170. The speedometer in the 2000+ Bonnevilles are awesome. You can press a button, and the needle will change from kph to mph, or kph to mph. It is funny to press the button and see the needle go from 60-100. It is great, and you can put it on KPH and make your friends think the car is WAY faster than it really is.

The fastest I have ever gone is 125 in the GTP. We were racing an LS1 Z28 (in which we beat) from 80-125, we raced 4 times, and beat them everytime, they wouldn't give up, then they gave the thumbs up and drove off all pissed. But I have gone 120 on numerous occasions in the GTP and the SSEi. I have also been in the '93 Olds 88 with the 110mph speedo buried. It would be cool just to get the GTP on a long straight road, and see what it would do, with the raised rev limiter and shift points I would think at least 160, probably 170. This would be after we get rid of the stock Eagle RSA'* though, because they are only rated to 130mph.

Hmmm...I'm sure it is possible with mods to do 170 mph. The speed sensors are quoted to be limited to 159 mph. I wonder if the GTP guys just show pics of the HUD at 170 kph and say it'* in mph because the HUD doesn't differentiate between kph and mph. :?
I would really like to believe it will indicate up to 220 mph.

I have only gotten mine to 100. I didn't know how the tires would hold up, and I didn't want to risk it with any nearby cops. I was on I-696, and knowing Michigan roads, I didn't want to hit any bad road.
