Default home depot special cold air intake

I had made a cold air intake before out of just the black tube, but I had no way of putting in the iat sensor.
So I went to the home depot and got a 3" piece of pvc pipe and drilled a hole for the iat sensor for it.
I was going to make a box out of sheet metal so it could stay in the engine bay but I couldent find tin snips
so I put it up in the grill for now, not very good in the rain, I have to make a water sheild for
it still so the front is coverd.
seems to be more responsive and maybe like a 3 horsepower gain, idk
took a pic of the rebuilt trans just for fun
duct tape on the pvc is just for extra security, it fits snug on both hose'*

Pretty ingeniou! You are feeling the benefit of colder air to the engine, but not a true ram air effect.

Look down under your piping, you will see your charcoal canister. Remove that and find a new place for it. Then remove the liner from there. You now have a great hole to run your intake pipe threw. That'* what a lot of us have done.

U felt a differance. It would seem there would be a little lag because of the distance from the air filter to the TB

where would I move this to? having that hole open would be an awsome place for it, making a heat shield would be extremely simple for that small opening.

And yes, I noticed a big diffrence right away with the sensor picking up cold air insted of engine bay air

not sure if this is true or not, but my dad said having the tube longer would give me better low end toqure because the air has more time to gain more velocity, and a short ram system gives you less low end and better high end.
I tested this theory on my stratus before and it seemed true.....
