THanks a ton Mike. I will have to pop my hood and check that out. And im consulting the chilton books, but im not seeing a whole lot to use on my tune-up so ill have to get a different edition of it or something.
So thanks for the advice but just as u posted last, ill wait for conclusive evidence supporting your idea, but its better than what ive gotten so far.
Thanks

I really should do this to my car just to see the difference that it makes. It might wake it up significantly. However, I am cheap and I'm not going to spend any money fixing/cleaning a topend thats coming off in a few months. Maybe I'll run some through with the new topend. I would be interested in running it through just to see what it does though.
Did you notice any difference in performance/kr????

i would suggest doing it before you next oil change, and when you teardown the engine you can see how well it worked. Are you tearing down the STE or the GTP?

My STE needs some engine work pretty bad (smokes at startup and low rpms (below 1000 or so)), and I want to make it go faster anyways (hoping for 13'* by the end of the season). I am taking the topend from a 3100 (heads, intakes, tb, etc...) and putting it on there because it is the same block as the 3.1 only the topend flows MUCH better, and I am putting in a mild cam (more details on page in my sig) and maybe some roller rockers. I am going to look at the bottom end and see if it looks okay when I have it apart because I think it may need some work also, if its bad its gonna be bored .030 over with some forged pistons and rods. Then I'll have a 3.2L...movin' on up!
Cost me 8 bucks for a can and tubing. If your close to changing the oil id say do it. If not Id hold off as you have to do an oil change after it.

from what i gather about vacuum lines, they all work the same, just suck in (unless they blow). but if its a hose that goes into the throttle body / intake manifold then its really just a hose that goes to the intake (which sucks in). So any of these should do the trick of getting the cleaner into the intake. Heck all those hoses ultimately hook up to is a hole in the throttle body which is of course right into the intake. All hoses should go into the throttle body behind the butterfly valve (this is because the vacuum needs to continue even when your foot is off the gas and the butterfly valve is closed).
I picked the PCV hose because I dont see the harm in unplugging the hose from the PCV valve (and thus disabling the PCV valve for a few minutes) to do this. But if you notice another hose that goes to something else (say cruise control if your cruise control is vacuum operated like mine,) then that should work just as well. Mechanically they are identical. Again just a hole into the throttle body where ultimately the hose is connected to. Of course there is a mounting plate, etc so that the seal is tight but that'* all that'* really going on.
So, In conclusions (haha sorry for long post) I wouldn't worry about hooking it up to any vacuum hose which you're sure leads into the intake (and all vacuum hoses that come from throttle body do this).
Note: There is that vacuum hose tag on your radiator that explains what the vacuum lines go to and do. This just goes to prove that all these hoses just lead to the intake. If my Chilton'* were here and not at home i'd look up your year and make sure it goes in there but even beter would be just to look to see under your hood at which hoses go into throttle.
So long as the goal is to get the "Top engine cleaner" into your intake manifold, then any of these hoses will do the work.
that is the goal of the top engine cleaner isn't it?
