Buy Chilton'* #28200 manual. That'll get you through the thermostat change. You need the manual anyway.
Leave the MAF screen in until you install a smooth-walled intake pipe and conical filter.
Fuel filter is located inside the frame rail under your front passenger'* feet.

The t-stat is pretty easy: just follow the upper radiator hose to the engine block, it connects to the thermostat housing. undo the two bolts and lift. remove old t-stat, put in new t-stat (use a new gasket too!) top off coolant.

There'* alot more to worry about. Properly removing the old fiber gasket without getting debris in the lower intake, the proper way to prevent losing coolant, torquing the studs back down, etc.
Buy the book. It'* only 15 bucks or so.
