Let'* not take this one off topic.

Matt...can you ask the trans guy. I've heard it "might" be possible to slightly drop the cradle and take the side cover off to get at the TCC w/o having to fully remove the trans and the subframe.

solenoid failing after that little of miles.. is that normal? did they put the same brand part back in?? :?

Eelectronic parts like this are usually good. 1 of a million will be a defect and he was just the lucky guy.

The old Solienoids were re-used from the old transmission, its not that often one fails.

All mine were replaced with improved design/updated parts. All brand spankin' new. A solonoid is an inexpensive part with a limited lifetime. Electro-mechanical devices like that should be changed by default when the case is cracked open.

As an aside, mine are being replaced as well. I requested it when I called in the repair. After seeing this thread, I'm glad I did.
