which fuel pump
I'm needing a replacement fuel pump and I want to know which one I should get and what wiring kit I will need for it to work.
I was looking at the 255lph pump on www.intense-racing.com but I didnt know if that will fit and which rewire kit I will need

No one makes a rewire kit for us 96-99 guys so you will have to make one of your own. The Walbro should work but isn't the best for us TREperformance makes a pump (model #340) which works better and is cheaper too.

there a 340c and a 340 which on is it?
is that a definite fit without mods?
do I need to use a rewire kit for one of these?
If so how easy is it to make one?

IIRC, SilverBullet2000 uses stock wiring for his fuel pump. I think... However, I know that the stock wiring for 92-95 SSEi fuel pumps is thicker than the 95-05 SE / 96-05 wiring. If you really want to replace the wires, to go really cheap, find a junked older Bonneville and take its fuel pump wiring.

You will have to chage the connector on the wiring harness to make the pump work but that is it. You could ask "SSEimatt93" I think he just installed that pump, I'll be installing one in my car soon.

Yeah that’* the one, the TRE 340 pump isn't known by TRE to be compatible with our 96-99 Bonnes. But thanks to a few guys in the Bonne community we know it works.
I think it would be a good idea to replace the sending unit while you are there. I was planning on trying that sending unit (FineLine I think the brand is) from RockAuto. But the 97 SSEi Fuel sending from GM Parts direct is only $170 (mine is $300 for my 98 :( )
