Have you seen a drop in boost? I'm curious because when my friend punt one on his GTP he did not. When I deleted the cat on my SSEi I saw a nice drop in boost.

Well I can talk about this now after my cat went out on me a few months back I gutted it and put it back on. And when I did that I saw a drop in boost then the cat started to leak and the drop became larger & not to mention the loss in low end. From what I have experienced I think these motors like a good amount of back pressure and deleting the cat isn't a good idea not to mention from a environmental stand point. Since I installed my cat yesterday I haven't gotten on the gas much I don't like driving hard when the outside air temps are in the 80'* & 90'*, So I don't know how much boost has been restored. Regardless though my torque is back and the motor feels so smooth again .

Ed,

The photos look great. It would be great to compare the performance of the original cat vs. the aftermarket cat. Let us know how it pans out.

For anyone else interested. I measured the exhaust on my '01 yesterday. The mainhead pipe is 2.75" that goes into the cat, the cat is 2.5" out to the resonator, then reduces to 2.25" out the resonator and splits to a pair of 2" pipes to the mufflers.

Chris.
