I had Magnaflows on my 3800 Camaro, and it had a near V8 rumble at idle that I really liked. I had flowmasters on my Cobra.......man......talk about sound. Low tenor rumble at idle up to a roar at 7200RPM......wow
When i get a new exhaust, I think I will go with the Magnaflow setup...like others have said here, it sounds a little better on a six than flowmasters.

I have yet to install my carsound cat, magnaflow muffler, and stainless tips and I have a feeling I am going to be blown away with sound. At the moment I dont care how loud it is but that might change once its all together.

I have Magnaflows on my STE, and even with the 3.1L it sounds very good at idle, and also when accelerting. Not only do they sound good, but they flow well too. I've had a few people compliment on what it sounds like. I also have had my friends neighbors complain that I drive too fast through their neighborhood because it sounds like I'm going fast. I was driving down the street in the summer with my windows down and I had some people yell from their front porch "this isn't a race track," so I looked down and i was going 18mph.
So of course I stopped and chatted with them for a minute about the speed limit being 25 and how if they want me to slow down then maybe they should contact the road commission about lowering the speed limit.
My dad has a Borla exhaust on his GTP and I like how that sounds as well, very deep sound at idle, and pretty quiet too, but when you go WOT it gets really loud really fast and sounds really good. IMO you can't go wrong with Borla or Magnaflow.
Personally, I don't like the sound of a Flowmaster on a 3.8 because it sounds too tinny and ricey. But thats all a matter of opinion.

The differences aren't huge. Performance or sound between Maggie and Flowmaster. If i had an L36 i'd pick Magnaflow. Flowmaster sounds a lil more muscle carish, Magnaflow a little more tuned european. Flowmaster are louder, cheaper.
Performance wise we're talking small differences, on much higher tuned performance engines., before you account dyno errors.
The videos on my site are all H body exhausts. a VERY different system then whatever we're calling the 00+ ones. All 92-99 use a single pipe into one muffler, which is single or dual exit. The 00+ are more like a GP, and on dual exit systems split into two pipes.
