well thats the thing, I don't think he ran it without oil pressure. I don't think he touched the car since I dropped it off, up until last week. Prior to that, during its initial startup, it was run for short bursts with pressure lube between. I think once or twice without. The manual calls for you to start it for 10seconds in an attempt to build oil pressure so I kinda figure it was "ok". How hard is it to check the cam bearings? And how will you know they're bad without ripping it apart?

Well it gets confusing and I guess it depends on how you look at it. Originally I thought it was because of lack of oil pressure during its startup which wore the bearings out. If you believe he (new guy) did work then he showed me a TOP bearing that was FRIED and told me that the bottoms were ok. He said that leans towards abuse or severe detonation. Now if you don't believe he did any work to it then I have no idea what is wrong with it haha. Like i said I asked for everything replaced to come back so that should answer what went wrong. Matter a fact I'll post a picture of the bearing. I realise you're a mechanic so this might be a long shot but I'm willing to bet its the nastiest one you've ever seen . I'll post shortly

honestly , that is nothing. the babit is gone , but trust me, i have seem much much worse. yours still have metal color, these were so hot that they turned blue. honestly, it looks like the wrong size bearing was used when installed. this is a must, always use plastigage even after you mic them. also you need to check all bearings with a mic for consistant thickness.

I give up, I'm sorry guys but I'm probably getting rid of the bastard car. So I check on it today and whoohoo its done. He has it idleing outside his office and things look good. I'm pissed so here'* the short version. 25miles goes by and suddenly there came a tapping as of someone gently rapping, rapping at my cylinder wall. "Tis some bad gas," I muttered "tapping at my cylinder wall - Only this, and nothing more." Ah, distincly I remember it was in the bleak February and each separate bearing wrought its hell upon my life. Eagerly I wished the morrow; vainly I had tried to borrow from my bank to easy my sorrow, sorrow for the lost bonneville....haha anyway I'm trying to keep from setting my car on fire but yeah basically here we F#$KING GO AGAIN!!!! No driveability issues what so ever, idles great, sounds great, drove fine. As with last time, never went above 40, never floored it, didn't lug it, crap I just spent $1000 on it TODAY, I'm not going to spend 25miles destroying it again!!! I can't believe this crap. I'm going back on monday when he opens, having him fix the gad damn thing, then I'm probably getting rid of it. I don't have a lotto winning I can throw at this thing. You want it?! Make a friggin offer! I'm so tired of it
