Sorry about the lack of updates, I had one before the server crashed but not recently. Well Will has it right, its in another shop right now, Auto Authority, and I haven't dealt with the other 'fruit cake' yet. I'm not sure if I can though, he covered it up pretty good. I know what I did and didn't do and I surely after all that time and money (debt now) didn't go out and beat it up. Looking back I probably shouldn't have given him a chance to repair it by leaving it with him for a week. The day it started making noise I took it back to him and he said he needed a week to look at it. Well that same day, oddly enough, my starter neutral kill switch connection broke so you could only start it with a starter button or a screwdriver. When I took it over to his place I shut it off and we had to use his starter button to start it back up so he could hear the noise. Before I left I took the starter button back off and personally hung it up on his wall. He said he was going to drain the oil and get a sample sent to the lab. Well when I came back a week later to ask about it he was brushing me off and had a camera there pointed right at me. I asked for my keys and immediately, with 4 friends as witnesses, checked over everything. When I popped the hood the first thing I noticed was the starter button back on! We both had agreed that it would be a bad idea to start the car again before we got the oil sample results back! WHY WAS IT BACK ON?! Oh and the oil sample results, of course, said there was critical bearing wear and some chemical that pointed to nitrous. I know I didn't use nitrous, hell the switch isn't hooked up, the bottle is empty, the NMU isn't hooked up (no wires), and the nitrous line wouldn't reach from the intake to the NMU. As it sits it would be impossible to have even used it..but anyway skip to a week or so ago. The guy that has it now took it apart and noticed EXTREMELY heavy wear on the TOP bearings only. Meaning the upper rod bearings. This, as he said, means the engine was heavily abused OR possibly the caps were overtorqued. Now here'* the delima. We have some old guy who'* been in business for years that built a high powered engine for a 21yr old with nitrous and a few days later it comes back with A) Abuse or B) His fauilt. Wonder how that'll go in court. SOOOO anyway aparently one of the rod caps was REALLY messed up, odd since I drove it like it was made of glass, so it had to be sent to a second shop...well that turned from a day or two into a few weeks. I'm going out today to check up on it again and make sure things are going good with it. No offense to you mechanics but I hate mechanics! I'm not too worried about this guy because he'* got more to lose than the other 'fruit cake'. Its funny you use that term, I do too it makes people laugh . Anyway yeah so you guys know about as much as I do. So far its all a waiting game, which I'm not too worried about because after pulling the other $$,$$$$.$$ out my @$$ its been tough to manage the other things I promised the wife I'd buy months ago AND come up with a 'spare' grand to finish this off. But don't tell this guy that, he'* already knees deep in fixing it . I'll have it when its done though, no worries. About a month ago I've written off the fact that I even own the car. We're even talking about getting a "second" car. Don't get me wrong, I love the Bon and I still own it but its 4 months from being in shops for a year. Too long with only one car and 2 people. Wealp there there it is for now. I'll post a blurb later tonight when I know what the status is as of today, promise .

Actually today I just bought a mid 90'* metro for.....*suspense*... a grilled stuffed burrito from taco bell. haha I'm not kidding! A buddy of mine is deploying to Iraq the day after tomorrow and he didn't want to leave it sitting for a year. We were planning on hooking my nitrous up to it and playing around but I said I could use it and he offered it up for a burrito. He'* just cool like that. Its not a great or bad car, I mean its a metro but it looks "ok" and who cares, my wife'll be driving it I'll have the bonneville . So now we have a 2000 Focus (crap) a mid 90'* metro (crap) and my bonneville (just finished taking a crap) Anyway guys I just talked to the engine guy (new one). It was so sad, he answered the phone like "Awoto awforiwy, can I wealp yow?...hewwow?" heh aparently he got an infection in his face and it spread to his jaw, he just spent some time in the hospital and homebound because of it. Anyway he'* got the rod cap back and everything looks good. He'* got my car slotted to be done thursday and he'* going to break in the bearings for a day so friday I should have it. I'm not EXPECTING it till monday though, just so as not to get my hopes up. Thats whats up as of now. I appreciate all the support from you guys in dealing with this, its been a really stressful time and your mix of humor and support has really helped out. Thank you. If I see you at the west coast meet we'll go for a ride

Only one in the midwest that has problems are MNBC admins... Between Gordy'* Trans failures (dramatic is an understatment) and Dave'* continual replacement of parts until he has a totally new car....
