Some of those hardcore series II guys out there will spank it but I'm figuring it'll be in the top of the Series I class. I'm going out today to install the 2.2" pulley on the supercharger and install the top half of the engine. I'm hoping to get the engine very close to done. The only thing that'll slow that down is if we're missing a bolt or I find one that I don't like the look of. There have been a few of those already but I'm not risking this project on a $1.25 bolt. I'm towing the car to the shop this next thursday and we're installing it sat or sunday. Should be on the road verrrryyy soon. I'm going to record video of the birth of the beast then I'll need to find someone with a tv-in video card to put it online. Any takers? I'll ship the video to anyone capable of transfering it to mpg or something. Preferably someone on broadband that can send it to me so I can post it. I'm not going to run it hard for a while but it'll give me a chance to test out the cam and make sure it works good. I should know that at 1/2 throttle . Then comes the cryogenic intake and hopefully an intercooler and I should be done with the engine. Yaaay. I get crap all th etime from friends saying I should put it in a smaller body like a Fiero and my buddy with a Porsche 914 says I should get one of those and put it in but I don't think I'll be doing that. I like having leather seats and 4 doors and still fully capable of spanking GT'* all over town. I like the heads up display, chromatic rear view mirror and a good stereo. Sure I could probably get a few seconds on the 1/4 mile but I don't want an engine and a steering wheel, I want creature comforts ya know? Am I crazy?

Well assembly has been going pretty good. We have the intake manifold, heads, rockers, valves + springs, oil pan...basically everything but the supercharger and pulleys. We've been haunted by missing bolts and gaskets but we're making progress. We need two o-rings that go between the intake plenum and supercharger and a gasket that goes on the back of the manifold. I've update the cardomain.com page with pictures. I finally went to page two with things. You can get a look at it with the supercharger being test fitted on top and a better view of the dual valve springs.

Cool I really appreciate that...and I'm sure some other people on here do too ;D. Yeah it won't be for a week or two because I wanna put some driving video on it too so its not just a teaser of me installing the engine and starting it...or maybe it should be...hah anyway yeah so I'm going to put some miles on it as fast as possible so I can add some track video and other fun stuff having to do with my new best friend "redline" to it. Then I'll send it out to you. I got a call from the engine guy yesterday. He told me that he got the transmission back and it looks very nice. He added (with a chuckle) that he got the old parts that were replaced and that I really gotta see what this thing "was about to do". I'm guessing that isn't good but its great that it was all replaced. I'm towing the car out there tomorrow in anticipation of this sunday when we're scheduled to install it. I hope I'm not missing a bolt again. But yeah thursday I'll post pictures of the transmission and whatever part it is that he was refering to. Updates are going to be about daily now.

Ok ladies time for your update . Today has been pretty good as you can see from the pic in the sig we got the engine 99.9% done. We're confused on two sensors that go into the back of the intake manifold.
Check my post in 1992-1999 PLEASE! Tell me what those sensors are!
Anyway the transmission is back and I have photos posted on page 2 of cardomain. It looks hot. I also cleaned and painted the inside of the engine bay, you gotta see that. Uhmm...We're still missing a bolt or two, one for the alternator (big deal) and one for the throttle body that GM discontinued 2 years ago. Thats not good but we'll have to figure something out. The TB isn't under a great deal of pressure so we can substitute another bolt there but we're afraid that it holds a bracket that something else bolts to. The microfiche at the dealership (my new home) doesn't show anything but that one bolt so I'm not sure what to do. I guess it'll make more sense once we have it completed. Small as the hangups are they are major enough to delay starting the engine. We were hoping for tomorrow to start it but it looks like it'll just be the transmission getting installed and if time permits dropping the engine in and finishing up these few bolts while its in. We have a few nuts and pieces that are supposed to come in from Nevada Mon or Tue but those are on the top end of the engine so we can install them while the engine is in the bay. I've ordered parts for this thing from damn near every state, it sucks. One dealership has this part but not that one blah blah. We're a little worried about the fuel injectors. As you know they got rebuilt from marren fuel injection and we called them to discuss another matter about the injectors and they said that you're supposed to run them within 30days of the rebuild or they tend to stick. Hey jackass thanks for telling me that before hand. It'd be nice if a little note about that came with the injectors. Did everyone else know this?! We're just going to run them and if one sticks we'll just tapping it with a small hammer and if that doesn't work I'm next day airing them back to Marren and they're going to rebuild it again. Those things better work.Yeah thats about it for now. Any questions?

"(and my right foot agrees with it) " lol
Yeah I'm about to ask jeff which one of the two prongs carries the 12v and which is the lead so I can install it before starting the engine. Otherwise I have to install it and possibly turn the engine over to find the 12v required to install the coil pack adapters. Once I find that out it seems pretty straight forward. As I said above I'm not sure if its going to happen tomorrow because I'm not sure if the engine is going in. If not I'm going to have the shop guy finish up the engine and I'll install it thursday. It sucks because I work 6am to 5pm every day and he closes at like 6 so during the week its almost impossible to get out there. I'm going to ask him tomorrow if he'll stay open later monday so i can try and finish this up as soon as possible. Maybe when I'm cleaning out my trunk I'll find $100 and he'll agree to stay open later. We'll have to see.
