Default couple questions

ok so in my long process i have a couple questions...

after putting the headers on the car, i have crazy valve tap, i'm going to exhaust wrap the rear header, but any other ideas on this? I only have 8000 miles on the engine

also the wbody trans dipstick, it is different lengths then the Bonneville one, i measured it and made a mark will the trans fluid should be full, any ideas or has any one else noticed that?

I am going to do the top swap and put the supercharger on next summer, so i am looking at cam shafts, and heads now, any ideas on which ones to get and can i install then before the top swap?

and a quick note... I just put ssei springs in the rear, it actually is a lot stiffer and raised the back up a good inch (ill post pics soon), has anyone done this before?

Not sure about the cam but you cannot put heads on it until you do the top swap. On an N/A the injectors go into the LIM but on a */C the injectors go through the heads. If you did heads now you would end up with an extra set of holes left wide open

As for your valve tap, welcome to the world of header tick.

Both trans tubes should be the same. I change to a wbody tube and used the same dip stick.

Sorry, can't do anything before the top swap. You will need to do it all at the same time. You need to pull the whole top to do the cam, so may as well do it at the same time. If you can pull the engine, life will be much easier.

IIRC the 4t65 has a higher fluid capacity than the 4t60e. So, if you used a W-body dip stick from a 4t65 car, it could be off.

Most of the aftermarket header flex sections are cheap and tick. A lot of people just wrap the flex and it helps.

Where in PA are you? I could probably help you with your tune once you top swap.

Yep you're only an hour away.

You should try using a mechanic'* stethoscope to narrow down the tick.

For the tick, are all of your header bolts just properly torqued down?

What headers did you use? Some leak at the crossover pipe.

Yes, I used my bonneville dip stick with my wbody tube.

i used the ssac headers, also bought different clamps for the crossover and i welded the down pipe.

all the header bolts should be properly torqued, but the only way it would leak is if they were too loose correct?

and 95nasta there may be a 200 car, car meet next week if you wanna come up
