The hole around it needs to be sealed. You don't want to be pulling debris through there that may damage the MAF screen further, or wipe out your MAF sensor. (or plug your intake manifolds). The hole being sealed will also provide more accurate incoming air temperature and volume measurements.

The PCM is a computer part, right? I am not doing anything with it. Is there something I should do, reset it maybe? I just got to disconnect the battery, right?
As far as the hole being sealed, if I do have a leak can I use some heat resistance tape to make it air tight?

Tape? No. It needs to be SECURELY fastened and sealed. Your filter is on the other end of the pipe for a reason. Any chance of another hole being opened (your IAT falling out for instance) is BAD.

My PCM is (was) inside my stock airbox. Not sure how it is on the 97 but if it was in the airbox and you removed it i was wondering physically what you did with it.

So no tape. What is the best way to seal it up? I mean the hole I drilled for the sensor is small enough just for the sensor to slide in so there is not that much air escaping.
When I pulled the box the only thing I had was the hose, screws, and the box of course which seperates into two halves. I am going to pull the grommet from the stock hose and seal any holes up. Then disconnect the battery, then I will let everyone know what happens

The pcm is not the grommet where the sensor plugs into or is it?
When I took everything out one side of the filter box contained the filter, and the other side had a hole that lead up to my air hose then to the TB. Is the PCM inside the box, because I have heard some people say they have gutted their stock box, do I need to cut inside to pull it out or something? But if it is in there, then what do I do with it? Shouldnt the car really have problems if the pcm is out? If you all want me to, I can take some pics later on today and show what the situation looks like.

You can't miss the PCM its a rectangular object about 10 X 6 inches (guestimating) with about 20-30 wires (probably in a taped bundle) going to it. Did you take the old airbox entirely out of the bay? If so then I doubt your PCM was in it and may be located on the fenderwell or under where the stock airbox was. Your car would not run without it.
