Cam Tiiming advance on Stock L36
Hello all,
I just registerd and while new to posting, I have been using the advice of many here for ~2yrs! - Time to register and get involved and hopefully be of some help to others!
I have my drive train out again. I rebuilt the trans ~27K ago and the park pawl spring is broken! Gotta take the whole thing apart.
Anyway, while out I am wondering if I can advance the cam timing while it is out. I found the parts at 3800performance.com. But can I do this mod with confidence? Will my pistons still clear the valves?
My engine is not the 1995 - that block has a hole where the rod came out from PO - I have a strong 1987 engine that performs well enough, but....
Is 4 degreees what I want or do I want to go right to 6 or 8 degreees?
Any thoughts welcome, and again glad to be on the forum - (I hope I do this right)
