CAI Mod Sensor Chip For 1999 Bonneville?
So, I have been searching the internet for materials to alter the air intake for my 1999 Bonneville, a highly suggested primary mod for my Bonneville (thanks TechInfo!). So, I went onto eBay and found a couple of things.
This product claims to be a chrome air intake kit with a K&N filter.

Then I found this - a CAI sensor mod chip for Bonnevilles:

I have no idea what this chip is supposed to do in relation to replacing the air intake. Anyone know about this? Also, anyone know where to find the parts for the CAI mod for the 1999 Bonneville SE? I tried the links in TechInfo and they don't work. :(

any sensor chip type mod is a scam... it'* a resistor that makes the PCM think that the incoming air is colder than it is. your engine will provide more timing, and it'* all great.
until about a minute later, when your PCM is looking at the O2'*, RPM'*, and IAT'*, and decided that the IAT readings aren't right, and compensates by pulling back timing...
and then you're back to square one (or a little bit behind it)...

97 -> 04 Bonneville PCMs all show 0 added timing based on weather temp. The IAT vs Cylinder pressure table only shows pulling timing if temps are above 100 degrees. A resistor mod will not benifit you in anway.
BTW, SB2K the reason why the timing commander and other happy ***** work is because we go into the tables and place the added timing parameters within that table. Instead of 0 they are +1. +2. +3 (or -1 -2) and so on.
