So, in all, how long did this project take you? Was it expensive? I have always wanted to redo a classic Firebird like yours. When you first got it, did it run?

Bought it in February and just this week got it back on the road.
It was expensive and parts were hard to find. It would be easier to rebuild a 1st generation because parts are surprisingly more available but would probably be more expensive.
I figure it is now worth between $10 - $12 K
Took it into the alignment shop today because I detected a bit of looseness and not surprizing it needs both lower ball joints replaced, so it'* not finished yet. With alignment - $400.
Also had to replace the fuel pump today because it was weak. Only $50.
A good quality paint job will run me $2000. but I will wait till next year for that. Everyone who has seen it so far really likes the flat black though. :? ....I'll have to dig out my old black leather jacket.

Even with the sloppy ball joints, it'* surprizing how well it handles. No lean at all even on high speed cornering.
The SSEi still feels peppier even though the handling is noticeable worse than the T/A'*.
