Good recommendation.
It smelled like new with the new carpet but after I intalled the old seats.......phew, it has that old musty smell.
Think I'll go out right now and spray down those front seats with febreze.

It'* just about done now. Re-installed the front battering ram and have the fuel tank back in place with the new sender unit and screen..........oh damn, I forgot to reconnect the hoses....that just won't do....must be starting to get ahlsiemers, that what my daughter always says.

The last component I'm waiting for is that darn alternator bracket. Something as simple as that holding up the whole show.

If the febreze doesnt work the first time, hose it down till its wet and then leave it outside to dry, and repeat. Trust me, it will get the job done eventually. Is there a way to get the seats apart? Like in the bonnevilles the leather part is just loosely attached to the cushion.

Thanks Macho, the febreeze did the trick. Smells like new now.

No body work at all needed. The car was originally Zebarted and no dings or dents anywhere.
The flat black paint job, although looking a little Darth Vadarish, will have to do for the next year or so. Maybe when my son turns 16.....

I'm not planning on installing a radio. No. Nada. I have blanked out the dash opening and covered it with black out piece. No distractions. Cruel you say. Maybe but I'm a parent and this car has about 350 hp.

The interior is all black. Buckwheat wants me to paint it the same colour as my other Firebird, Marine Blue. That might be cool. Having two models of the same car, same colour. Trans Am and Formula...Father and Son dueling it out at the track....
What color do you think I should paint it when I do.

More progress today. Dumped 1/4 tank of fuel in the tank...94 Octane.
Installed the nose bumper cover and radiator. More touch up flat back paint and then the finishing touch was a red reflective Pontiac arrow head sticker to freshen up the nose emblem.
Can't get one of the transmission coolant lines to thread into the radiator but that'* OK because I'm going to connect it to a hose to an auxillary cooler.

Now the last piece I'm waiting for is still that frikken alternator bracket.

Ya know the Flat Black colour...or rather lack of colour....is growing on me.

get some baby blue racing stripes down the top to match the engine. , Then again, you dont want it to look better than the other car

Heavy duty 24,000 lb trani cooler installed tonight.
Tomorrow is a Company dinner meeting and the next night will be working late during a machine shutdown, so progress will hold for a few days waiting for the bracket.
Just have to hook up the electric choke now.

The new rubber door seals work well to really tighten things up.

What would you recommend for filling in the previous owners stupid mistake of cutting holes in the door panels for speakers.

Looking good.
