air box question

air box question
i have no airbox.. well most of it is gone.. there is the stock filter and housing around the filter but no other peices to the air box..is this a bad thing or does it even matter?

Ah... gotcha... so its really just open element now well i can't see it causeing any harm so long as the air is still filtered. its really the same concept as a CAI without the more efficent cone filter and smother intake pipe. also you are breating in hotter air without the rest of your box on there. thats why a lot of people who do a CAI put heat shields on there. if you don't want to upgrade it, i'd hit up a yard and see if you can find the rest of your box pieces. who knows, maybe a member who did the CAI mod can sell you their stock box if you want.

oooo ok.. yeah thats ok.. just check your filter after it rains to make sure its not wet.. cuz when those type of filters get wet thet stop letting air throw..
