How is this setup held in place? Is it mounted somehow to hold it steady, or does it just bounce around and bash the hell out of your filter?

The reducer on the TB that Hector provides is enough to hold up the weight of the intake and the filter (and now my CAI too). You want it this way. When your engine torques over on throttle romp, you want this sucker to be able to move.
When mine torques over, the intake pipe, filter, and CAI all raise up slightly. Not as much as they want, as the silicon reducer takes up some of the flex, but it does move. It'll stay where you put it, even if it'* 'hanging in space'.
That filter I'm running now (part number in my signature) has a knockout in the end of the velocity stack for a bracket if you want to run one.

Box ain't done yet ![Wink](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/wink.gif)
That'* revision B. Revision A is sitting on my front porch with 2 old K&N filters and my stock airbox.
I'm going to simplify and improve this box. Including modding the car itself to better feed the box.
NOTE:
This box is only possible because of the design of that filter. The filter is supporting the entire weight of the box. Take off the filter, the box comes with it.

No, I'LL TAKE THE FIRST ONE!!!
J/K
If you ever do make kits or more boxes I'll be glad to pay you ANYTHING for it. Or just list parts and sizes/dimensions and I'll try to make one myself. My filter should be here in a few days.![Banana](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/banana.gif)

Allmachtige has been buggin' me for this one if I replace it, too, but it'll actually just go into my collection. There might be something in the works for these, so sit tight. If I do sell/distribute, it'll be an improved design. No half-assing coming from me.
You should put the serial number of your intake in your sig, bud. You have #3. #1 is on the Hector-mobile......you know where #2 is.
That'* a collector'* item, you know.

Done. ![Very Happy](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Is mine #3 since it'* the 3rd different 3800 it'* on (Hector, series 2 NA; You, series 1 SC; Me, series 1 NA...), or the third one to get the intake? Because if its the latter Paulnold might be #3.
I don't know what to do with my current cone filter now....maybe some day I can branch off another pipe somehow (just brainstorming) and have a dual cone filter intake. It would take a lot of creativity and money though, if it'* even possible.

Hey, that old filter would make a badass oil cap breather, eh? Bigger is better, right?

LMAO! I might need a bulge in the hood or a raised hood like some 5.0 Mustangs have to fit that new breather. ![Laughing](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
You think I'd get 10 hp from that?![Laughing](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Oh yeah...Paul was definitely before me by a month or two for sure. I'll change it to #4
