Default Steering column/ignition wiring diagram

Hello folks,
Hoping 🤞 someone can help me, I'm so frustrated...
I need a diagram of the two wiring harnesses inside the steering column for a 2000 Olds Bravada. The last owner had someone break into it, and they destroyed the steering column, and tore a bunch of wiring out.
I'm just trying to put it all back together.
Also... does anyone know how to go about eliminating the locking ignition altogether, and wire in a start button instead of a key ignition? Would that mean I need to also eliminate the security system? What would that entail?
If anyone has a logical answer and/or a link to a reliable wiring diagram of those things, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks all!

Your best bet may be to get a column from the junk yard.

If it were only that easy. I'm pretty much at the lowest point of my life at the moment, so I have to make the best of a not so great situation.
I'm confident I can put the wiring back where it belongs, (minus the missing ignition cylinder.)
Sadly, locating a decent wiring diagram of the two harnesses within the column has already used up most of my allotted data for the month, and I'm running out of time. Added to the fact that I can't pull up what I'd need from the service manual, without buying it, or putting a credit card down to join auto zone'* gimmicky little "rewards program." I say nay nay to that!!
Aside from the wiring diagram (schematics,) I know you can purchase a push button start kit, so it stands to reason, that wiring a start button is not only plausible, but certain! I'm just not sure exactly what steps to take, and what (if any) I would need to do to the current security system, (if there is one.) But I'd venture to guess that it'* possible to circumvent that as well. If it can be built, it can be unbuilt.
I'm just hoping the right person sees this post and decides to lend me their expertise!
So, thanks for playing, Monty has some swell parting gifts for you! Isn't that right Monty?

Default 2000 bravada attempted theft damaged ignition

I need help rewiring a busted steering column, ignition wiring torn apart. I can't locate a decent wiring diagram.
Does someone knowledgeable know if I can just wire in a start button instead of a keyed ignition?
And is there a factory security system in a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada, with a 4.3liter V-6? If so, can it be removed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please don't just say "get a replacement column at a junkyard," like someone already said cuz that'* not helpful.
Thanks a bunch!

thank you, but this is only the hot and grounds for a single circuit, not even showing how many wires are in the ignition.
Is there someone else I can chat with please? I'm not trying to be difficult but it doesn't seem to me, that you're real interested in actually helping, only giving enough information to make them go away.
I need SOLUTIONS to my issue, not "go find one in the junkyard," or giving me the single most basic schematic on the entire vehicle.
You haven't answered a single one of my questions... So, is there someone else I could talk to about this??

According to programautokeys.com, your Bravada does not have a chip key. I haven't tested this out for myself. If it turns out this information is incorrect, I don't think dishing any of this kind of stuff out will get more help to show up:

What I hear here is: I'm asking for assistance, I don't know basics of this vehicle'* starting system nor its anti-theft system, I conceptualize a solution that involves re-engineering a catastrophically-damaged electrical system in the most complicated and critical part of the vehicle electrical system, what you gave me is not the same as that concept, here'* the door, Monty will get you some parting gifts on the way out.

What I hear here is: I don't believe you're interested in helping even though you've already supplied my with the first of many possible diagrams for the most complicated and critical part of the vehicle electrical system, and done so for free on your time, and you did it to make me go away. You could have ignored me, or just typed "go away", but instead, you searched for a diagram for my vehicle, gave that to me, all in an attempt to patronize me so I would go away, because you're the type of member that would do that.

What I hear here is: I need solutions, and you have given me one that I do not prefer because it is not the concept that I dreamt up before asking for free advice from folks who know about this sort of thing, and while here I also accuse you again of searching for a diagram for my vehicle then giving it to me for free.

What I hear here is: You haven't answered a single one of my questions in the way that I want you to, while we all know that I came here for help from folks that know more about this subject and have more resources available to help me, than I do.

I'll ask you a question: Why would anyone want to help you now, since we can all see how even the most basic advice only gets flippant, condescending, and insulting responses from you? We understand this stuff, and yes, from what you've described, your best hope is to get another steering column from a similar vehicle and match wire colors splicing it in. The wire harnesses under there are complicated and confusing on a good day when none of it has been altered. I get that you are at the lowest point in your life and running out of data and etc., but that'* not something carfixer007 was aware of as of his first response to you . . . and then you started lathering on the attitude from the start.

Back to answering your original questions:

Yes.

Yes.

As far as I can tell, there is no electronic anti-theft system in this vehicle.

Probably nothing.

Yes, here I am. There are a few others that might have chimed in before reading this thread.

Yes, still here.

The diagram that carfixer007 supplied is enough to get the car to start with the damage you've described through the most efficient path. You are correct in your assertion that it doesn't show all of the wiring. You've also mentioned your concept of bypassing all of that and going back to basics with an aftermarket starter button. What you need to do is trace wires back from the starter, battery, fuse box, etc. to hook your concept to. If that isn't possible, then the problem is different than we are aware of.

I also think an apology is owed. Maybe after that we'll be able to assist further. Maybe not. Either way, I think it is owed. carfixer is a valued member here at GMForum and freely gives his time, advice, and an amazing supply of diagrams without asking anything in return. Check out his post count, and go read what he'* done to help others before accusing him of only wanting to make anyone go away.

He seems to expect us to give a one post silver bullet fix to his problem. The point of the starting circuit is to get it to start or determine if the theft system is a problem also.
Deleting the theft system is not something easy to do.
Good luck guy.
You may want to curb that attitude with the next HELPER.
You ain't paying us enough money to put up with that.

(deep breath...)
Ok! It would seem that the only time a massive, quick reply comes, is when someone'* back is against the wall, when time is a non-existent commodity, and frustration levels are high.
I concede to the fact that an apology is warranted, so to that effect, I sincerely apologize for my impatience. I should have thoroughly explained the steps I had already gone through. As this is the first time I've ever used one of these sites, I was ill prepared for the etiquette I should've exerted.
In response to the many derogatory and insulting innuendos, perhaps I'm not the only one who needs to apologize! At least, with extreme frustration and zero time to rectify my problems before they multiply exponentially, I have an excuse for being impatient, and under prepared! But I digress!! I don't have time for all this banter, it seems to me that you could've simply said something to the effect of " hey buddy, I'm giving you a starting point, because I've no idea of what you've tried already!" Forgive me for thinking your reply was short and dismissing! It wasn't the reply I was hoping it would be! Aside from the fact that this is only the second GM vehicle I've ever owned, and as such, am not very familiar with certain components, let'* clear the air on something; yes, you folks that volunteer part of your time, or get paid for part of your time, are the very backbone of helpful sites like this one, and as such, are obviously more skilled in vehicular repairs than I am! That is a given, however, it doesn't mean I'm an imbecile, nor unable to process the ideal of me, being an impatient ***! So, the insults aren't necessary!
For the record, yes, I was impatient and didn't pose my question, and subsequent previous steps correctly! I apologize if my (although slightly humorous) comment of "Monty" supplying you with a consolation prize, was over the top. But, and I say this fully expecting it to be correct, aren't we all men here? This launching insults and innuendos (although mildly entertaining,) isn't really getting any of us anywhere.
So, again I say, I am sorry for any insults, innuendos, or impatience on my part! You tech guys (and gals,) are the very reason sites like this even exist in the first place! Whatever compensation you receive is certainly an understatement to your level of assistance, patience and expertise in helping so many people so expeditiously, and I appreciate your assistance!! Forgive the fact that I have three vehicles all down at the same time, no money, no income to speak of, (long story,) and no time in which to rectify these issues, and get a single vehicle up and running, so I can move on with repairing the remainder of my obstacles. My intentions were never one of a negative aim, I am overwhelmed and frustrated that a simple wiring schematic couldn't be found on the entirety of the internet, without first creating some unnecessary account, putting down a credit card, (that later would've undoubtedly been "accidentally ' charged for some unforseen reason due to the "fine print" that I neglected to see,) or pay $19.99 for something that used to be looked up for free! After spending DAYS searching in vain, I was finally left with no alternative, than to create an account, and ask for help, (which is something I try never to do, unless I have no other options, to both, the creating of an account, and asking for help. (For painfully obvious reasons to all those involved now.)
I sometimes "don't play well with others," and, again, I apologize for my impatience and resulting attitude!
Now that we have dispensed with that giant time wasting expedition... I thank you for the bits of information that has come through, in between the insults, (however warranted.) That is very useful data, and I appreciate it immensely! The only thing that remains, after applying the suggestions given, is to trace, and reconnect the few remaining "stragglers" (cut and dangling wires,) to one or both of the wiring harnesses contained within the steering column. If it isn't too much trouble, would you be so kind as to provide me with either, the page from the service manual, (on a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada, with the 4.3liter V-6) that clearly shows the two wiring harnesses inside the steering column, and where those wires connect to? Or... Any diagrams or schematics that show where each wire goes inside the column itself? (i.e. the ignition wires, the turn signals, high/low beam switch, etc.)
With the other questions already answered, (thank you again for that information,) I believe that I can finish with the first vehicle repair, as soon as I have the wiring diagram that I alone, cannot locate!
Thank you for all of your hard work, perseverance, and tolerance of a**holes like me! No hard feelings at my end!
Sincerely,
One frustrated, impatient a**hole!
(aka 2000OldsmobileOwner)
*Keep up the great work! *
