Hello guys!
i have checked with OBD1 when car was not started no fault codes.
i will try to start and see live data maybe you can suggest me what I can check in live data?
or anyone else has any suggestions what else to check.
as well attaching one interesting screenshot what was on scanner.
there are no MAP in this car it uses MAF
You said MAP isnt on your engine because you have MAF.
Most if not all the 3.8, 3800 lineage engines to my knowledge use both and its not because they "need" both but GM found it makes for a lot more precise and good running things to have MAP and MAF so they did. Your engine has a MAF sensor and a MAP sensor. Your MAP is out of range, which means you either have a vacuum leak to it or the sensor is just not working right(for whatever possible reason). Verify it. Also your TPS is out of range. if you find the right wires, key on should be 5 volt, a ground, and another low voltage when throttle closed. if you watch the low voltage one while someone opens the throttle, you shouldnt see any drop outs or incoherent readings. those TPS were unreliable, you can change it safely because even gm basically said that.
Also, ECT, you SHOULD replace since they were uncommonly able to pass coolant through the insulation all the way to the PCM. Yikes. i think yours didnt but you should make sure its not the OEM one for that reason.
Also, I dont kjnjow your mileage but regardless of much else, once you get running you should really do a timing job and get that gear replaced before you end up with big $$$$$ damage
Hello. So help me find map sensor as this is 1985 year which does not seems to have map. Starting from 1986 it is whole different engine with ignition coils, map'* an other fancy stuff.
attaching photo of engine.
We have tested as well 5 v comes to tps.
i think maybe obd1 computer does not communicate properly as it does not show kive data as coolant temp and etc.
or maybe it is ecu issue that connectivity is not established

The tool shows codes so it must be communicating.
What do you get when looking at live data?
