Also, I've read you mention this 130mph top speed thing before. Is this a big deal to you? No disrespect intended but we used to run 140 plus in the GTP'* easily and I know my Bonnie gets up to 130 real quick and has plenty of pull left. I just haven'* had the chance to let her go with the taller gearing. 150 does not seem out of reach I would think. I've heard claims of hitting 160 in a modded GTP.

Most Supercharged Bonnevilles are limited at 128 +/- 2mph. All others are limited to 108. For the Series 1, the triple digits are much more challenging when you take into consideration the horsepower needed to overcome aerodynamic drag at some speeds. Add that to the fact that the Series 1 delivers all of it'* power in the lower rpms.
130mph is the max speed I can run for the next year and keep my warranty valid, OTHER than on the Salt Flats. There I can run faster without invalidating my warranty.

Don: "I'll need a couple weeks instead of the traditional 3-4 days".
That 156 run was the summer before last. Some members here know why I have a sphincter-sized piece of leather missing from my driver'* seat.
Doing that speed at the Flats in that heat and elevation will be tougher, especially when you consider the lack of traction and the fact that I have only one mile to enter the course at 130.

Is that when you lost the wheel weight at 125???

No, the wheel weight was about 3 weeks before or so. That was the first run after my Jet chip was installed, and 2 days before I was scheduled for new tires.

It must be really nice having a transmission that is all beefed up with all those gaurantees....I don't know what winter is like in Oregon, but here I would have some MAJOR fun.
