Wow. I didn't know that a Bonny could outrun radio. Not to mention that a PI CV has more torque and a 0-60 time almost as good as a super-charged SSEI...
BOLO=Be On Look Out...for a person, car, or what have you. You fit the description; certainly not the officer'* fault.
As for laughing about the idea of a felony stop...I doubt very much you've ever seen a firearm, let alone seriously thought about what it would mean to have one pointed at you. In any case, it'* nothing to laugh about.

Anyway, I pulled over right after I got through the light and he mentioned I ran two stop signs (which was not true). I then see two more police cars pull up. He said I was not pulling over, and so he called more cops because he thought I stole it, and said he was about to pull me over by gunpoint too. To make a long story short, he gave me a ticket for passing a stop sign (not two, but one, which made no sense. If I passed two, he would have had that on the ticket) I got it dismissed.
If someone stole a car and a cop was trying to pull the person over, he or she would try to outrun the officer in most cases. That person would not be thinking straight and would try to get away, IMO. He or she wouldn't drive the same speed with him right behind me like I did. And pulling me over by gunpoint for driving another 100 feet would have been obsurd.
I have seen and fired several firearms. I have thought about having a gun pointed at me several times, but that is regarding the thugs on the streets here in Syracuse. That can happen. I have not, however, thought about having one pointed at me by a cop, since that will NEVER happen. I can laugh at it for that reason.
If there'* a problem with the law, it needs to be changed to a wording away from "any forward facing blue light" to "any blue light capable of imitating a law enforcement vehicle"...
(c) Purposely neglect to stop when signaled to stop by any law enforcement officer who is in uniform or who displays his badge conspicuously on the outside of his outer coat or garment...
That only makes sense IF a cop is in uniform and signals you to stop when he or she is next to you, so you can see the uniform, badge, and so on. If eventually one pulled over that was "signaled to stop" by a suspicious car with what seemed to be uncommon police lights, and it happened to be a cop in uniform, the fact that it was impossible to see if he/she was a uniformed officer should not count against the person for "neglecting" to stop immediately. He or she would not be purposely neglecting to stop by a uniformed officer if that person did not know and could not see it was a uniformed officer. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just saying that the wording of that law should be written better.
But if you read the law, it say* any authorized emergency signal...and blue lights are one...hence the earlier law about no blue lights on civilian vehicles.

This is just so funny because if I was to drive down there with a regular truck that was used for plowing snow up here, they HAVE TO HAVE BLUE FLASHING LIGHTS visible for a few hundred feet. It'* a law and if you don't have the blue flashing light you will get charged.
Then again this is Canada, hehe.

A vehicle cannot have blue, red or white lights. Those are emergency vehicle colors only! Plus, on all those neon lights, the packaging says for off road use only. The police has a right to pull a vehicle over if they feel it has distracting modifications; strobes, colored neons and such. If you buy something that says "For off road use only" don't blame the cops for pulling you over, you can only blame yourself.
If a unmarked police car follows you and wants you to pull over but you don't feel comfortable doing so, call 911 and ask the dispatcher if a unmarked car is currently patrolling the area. Emergency vehicles have certain colored lights so traffic knows that it is a emergency and they need to move out of the way. You can see the consequences if people start putting lights on their cars and making people think they are a emergency vehicle.

As for white lights though, do you mean yellow? I don't think white is a emergency color in my area (though it may be in yours), and I know that anyone is allowed to have a spotlight where I'm from (you see them a lot around here)...as long as they're not "shinin' fo' deah"! And I think even white strobes are legal here (would need to check on that one though).

But you're right, neons, strobes... are and should be illegal (when driving) for that reason since they can be distracting.
Which brings up another point, the fart cans on the rice cars with those neons or strobes should also be illegal since they're distracting and annoying too!!

If you don't have a phone on you, drive to a police station or somewhere that is well lit and traveled. As far as white light is concerned, it may vary by state, but here in MN it'* a no-no.

I believe that the penalties where to harsh for this situation, I agree that there are rules and regualations to follow and she did ask someone in reference to the lights along with her mom, all we see in this case is the discretion of the officer, she had the lights almost two years....
I had a senario similar.... I was a ricer (I finally woke up ) I had a civic hatch back and I ordered a full tail with LED lights for the back of it.....Prior to installing it I went to a friend of mine that is a State Trooper and showed him my project and he said that it was legal....The tail was in three pieces and had turn signals and hazzard lights connected. I disconected the third brake light at the top because I had enough lights and it did not go with the looks. One night leaving classes I got pulled by a sherriff and he gave me a ticket for not having my third light operational....I decided to go to court and fight it
Thanks to my friend (the trooper for being at the court hearing) he told the judge that all he had to do was go outside and look at the car....the Judge agree, once I stepped on the brakes the judge looked like a tomatoe in his robe.....the case got dismissed ....
the key word here was the discretion of the officer and what kind of day the Judge was having....and that is my .02
