You're presuming alot on her part. At age 12 my older sister was basically mother to us 3 younger siblings. Father gone, mother a drunk. Shes 2.5 years older than me. Maturinty comes with responsibility thrust on you. You'd be surprised at how mature they can be if they had to be. Also it waasn't 100 years ago you were married and on your own at about that age. We're not talking that here. We're just talking dating, getting to know one another. Anything more serious can wait.

Yeah, at that age there'* pretty much the two year rule. As you get older, the rule grows. I was 19 when I met the girl I'm with now, and she was 16. A little pushing it, but 2 1/2 years later at going on 22 and 19, it'* a lot more shall we say, "acceptable". But really it'* up to you, talk to her. Like someone already said, no harm in being her friend. Chances are you'll find her annoyingly immature anyways.

ill chime in with my opinion which doesnt seem to differ much from the people here.
theres no harm in getting to know her. when you get to know her, shell either be immature or mature. if shes immature, youll find her incredibly annoying, and if shes mature, youll be glad you got to know her. so the lesson is, get to know her. that lesson doesnt vary at ANY age. (that should be obvious)

Okay I have a daughter who is 13, and if a 10th grader was looking at her, I would rip out his eyes and serve it to him on a plate!!
We are dealing with stuff like this at school, we have 2 girls who are in the 7th grade who are "dating" boys who are in the 10th grade and having SEX, yes you heard me SEX!! She is not mature enough to understand what is going on with her body, or in her mind. Plus she is in elementary school!!! No, it is not right. Wait until she is older, or find someone your own age.
