My mom just test drove a 2000 SE (I don't live with her). Bench seat, Column shift, hubcaps, no spoiler, no CD just cassette, and no keyless entry. Talk about strippo. 56k, they were asking $6995. Good deal?? She may consider buying it since she just got her first SS check.

Not bad, I gues. IMHO, I would spend $3000 more and get an SSEi with all the toys. And, the SE PROBABLY doesn't have the 3800 engine. I'd probably look for the SSEi and get the reliabilty of the 3800 engine. IMHO

All 2000 Bonnevilles have the 3800, and the 3800 only. Either L36, or L67.

sounds a little high. there is a guy here selling a 2000 SLE with 54K in Indianapolis for $9k/best offer. I'd say $5500 would be a decent price on the SE. Check Edmunds.com and KBB.com too

Since 1987 or before the Bonneville has only had the 3800 under the hood in an FWD configuration, this lasted right up until the car was no longer produced. Some more fortunate cars received the L67 Supercharged option. A couple of those cars fell into our hands and they've never been the same since.
For such a stripped model..I'm thinking it'* a bit overpriced

I'm surprised it doesn't have keyless entry; that'* pretty much standard for late model cars. I agree, it'* over priced; somewhere between $5K and $6K would be more realistic.
