WiFi advice
OK, this is getting on my nerves. A while back my wifi was working just fine, I shut off the computer and went to bed, couldn't sleep so I got up, booted up computer and no internet connection. Wifi network was not found. I picked up a USB wifi and that didn't work. I picked up a new router, that didn't work. The wifi in the house is working, my Wii connects, and all our android cell phones connect. I picked up a different USB wifi, no luck. I picked up a 3rd USB wifi, different type each time. I have a G network and a G USB wifi adapter. But it will not see the network. I installed in on my wifes computer, and it works, just not on my laptop. It'* like the wifi ability of the laptop is turned off. Anyone have any idea where I can look? I have a cable run to my laptop so I can use it, just no wifi.

With all that, it must be the laptop. You covered all the other bases. Control Panel/Network Connections/Find Network? . Tommy can help if you to renew an IP or further tech.

I have updated drivers. The laptop has a built in wifi, and that stopped working. Now I'm wondering if that'* OK, and something else is going on. I know it'* the laptop, I've tried 2 different networks, no luck, and 4 different wifi adapters, no luck. But wired internet works fine.

Delete all WiFi connections and devices on your lap top. Re-boot. Try the on-board WiFi adapter. If that doesn't work, then try the last USB adapter that worked.
If you have a USB 2.0 adapter and trying to use it on a USB 1.0. that will create some BS for you and more than likely not work at all.

I've tried that, a few times actually. The trouble shooter says driver problems, not likely. The other thing it says is
Make sure internet bindings are correct. I have everything set to auto, same as the cable connection.
