Well here'* an update, it'* worse than I thought. after getting home to my car in the driveway I started to look it over. New brake lines are there, good. Then I saw more damage that I didn't notice before. The doorframe doesn't close right. There'* a big gap, which looks like a water leak waiting to happen. You can see where the object tore up the underside of the car, took off half my lower rocker molding. But that frames all bent up, so replacing it with one from a JY won't work because the frame is bent. I'm ******* pissed. Pics to come later of the damage.
Just got off the phone with insurance. They will cover to have my door fixed, not sure about body damage. Because we paid 500 total before (200 for tow, 300 for brake lines), that is the total of my deductable so tehy will count that. We just don't get the 2oo for the tow back even though we have towing insurance, but the cost to fix the door will likely be more than that. Insurance says they will call back tomorrow and let us know what the deal is. Wish me luck...

Get a hammer and bend the frame back.
Cut the bent piece out, have a GOOD welder put a new piece in(fabbed prolly).
Or maybe I just don't realize just how bad the damage is...
End story... You need a friend that can weld and fab.

Dude, I can't believe that. Really wish you'd have gotten that plate now. Still understand how you didn't, but would be nice to be able to hold them responsible.
Any idea how much they'd give you?
I paid less for mine thatn what it is worth, you may get lucky.

Update time:
Insurance will give me value of the car (4000) plus sales tax (200) minus deductible (500) for a total of 3700 if we total it.
Or
They will give us 3300 to keep it as a salvage title, but we have to take collision off of it.
Leaning towards salvage but will know for sure by tonight. really only have to drive it a month more for summer, then I go to school, and will only be able to drive it when I come home (once or twice a month probably). The door seal does not leak water whcih I thought it would, so that is awesome. Door takes some force to open and close but it does fine. Can get a rocker molding from a yard and paint it since I have the paint already. I will get pics up of the damage after I wash it down tonight when it cools down. Any advice let me know. I suppose this could be in general chat since it'* now officially Bonneville related, up to the mods.

If you find the right one that could cover most of the purchase price, actually.
And if you keep it and something happens that would be covered by collision, you're screwed.

I say scrap it. Like Brian said, the money would be a nice down payment on a SSEi. I would never drive a car that had its frame damaged, around town for a while probably but then I would scrap it.
Sorry dude

I think I'm going to keep it for now. I cannot afford a new car, and my parents can't afford to help out. Whatever I could get for 3700 would not be much. Need a car this summer for work. Like I said, it;* only really a month of driving before it gets put down. My dad and I may try to attempt some work on the frame.
