The guy trying talking me down in price but I held firm. He agreed to the $4900 and is supposed to be here tomorrow to strike the deal. I told him he better be bringing a certified check after he said he would pay with brand new $100 bills.......there are too many counterfeit ones floating around. :?
Victor has personally spent about $1,200 on the stereo and half of the front windshield so my plan is to give him $2,400. and he can get what ever he wants and that'* it the rest is all up to him.
Chynna will get $1,500 for her to get a little beater and that leaves $1,000 for me

I linked him to this thread and it was an easy sell.
Still have an uneasy feeling about this one.

Hey Rocky,
It won't kill you once you get behind the wheel after paying so little for this car. LOL
In a way I'm sad you accepted cause I did want more for it and will miss my Black Betty :(
Yes, I have all the receipts in a very large envelop.
While I did say I would accept cash, brand new $100 bills make me a little concerned in light of all the counterfeit ones circulating recently, I'm sure you can understand that my canuk brotha
So Please bring a bank certified check. I will not accept a personal check.
Yes, I will write the car off to you for say $500. I've dealt with transferring ownership and car sales a few times and they are wise to that trick. That will only cost you $35. a savings of over $300 which should pay for your trip here

OH NO
So I'm driving Black Betty a lot this last few days to burn down a full tank of fuel and BE DAMNED if it hasn't just started to develop an annoying lifter tap that increases in sound with rpm.
I whipped off the drivers side valve cover to inspect for the obvious but everything is tight and clean.
I can only suspect a collapsed lifter.
What a time for this to happen.
Now, should I tell the propective buyer before he comes up with his Certified cheque........and risk him bringing the price down......I did say, as is, but I did say that there was nothing mechanically wrong with it :?:
Need some feedback on this one guys. :?

I just copied and pasted the thread.....with a little bit of doctoring
I knew he would have to join to be able to view lounge posts.
So I suppose I should start posting over in the mechanical forum to try and resolve the tapping sound problem.
It sure has a lot of power all across the rpm range though.
.....and the exhaust also sounds unusually louder than normal, as if normal was anywhere near normal.

This works for lifter tap but not the kinda thing you would do if were to keep it.
Add a half liter of ATF to the crank case, start the engine wait a few minutes for it to clear if it doesn't pour a half liter of Kerosene in the crank case. Give a few minutes then change the oil.
The atf is a detergent and the kerosene rinses it out, works for sticky lifters.
Did this trick to a truck I traded off, last 100 miles I drove it, it was as quite as a mouse
