Who remembers the hijacker DB Cooper?

Found his parachute? Maybe. Interesting info near the bottom of the article may indicate he actually survived.
I expect a little excavating down the parachute shroud/cords is in order by the FBI.

If I remember right, DB Cooper, although was a passenger on the flight, was not the name of the guy who they actually think took the money. There was a whole big documentry on this a coupel years ago. Quite interesting. Maybe the chute will be the key to at least finding the landing zone, bit probably not to the suspect himself after 36 years.

The name his ticket was purchased under was "Dan Cooper", the D.B. was the initials of the person in the seat next to him. Some of the money did turn up down the line, some was found during a bank audit in southern Cali about 3 years later, and a little girl recovered some from a mudbank near where they think he parachuted out. None of the rest of that serial range were shredded out by the government, so presumably they are still out there somewhere.

PDad asked me if I remembered the story.....I said no, because it happened in 1971....I was NOT born yet!!!!! :P But honestly, from what I have read, I hope he got away. He has now faded into infamy

It'* a long-standing NW legend, nobody got hurt, and it'* almost fictional in alot of minds now.
Local legend. In cases like this, it'* not uncommon to root for the 'bad guy'. I don't care either way. I just want to satisfy my curiosity.

With $200,000 I bet he'* living in the lap of luxury.
NOT!!
Just so'* you know................... it would take a LOT more than $200K for me to jump out of any plane that wasn't moments away from crashing.
