Who remembers 80's toys?

what about those chemistry lab sets? I remember getting one that had all kinds of checmicals, then trying to recreate what I had seen on the last episode of Macgyver I had watched. It'* wonder I never blew the house up completely.

The great toys I had were the Evil Kenivel stunt cycle, the Whirly-bird battery powered syrofoam ship with the helecopter that circled. And lets not forget those SST Racers where you pulled the plastic whip cord to get the drive wheel spinning and having the whip snap your fingers just before it cleared the grove. Then of course there was always the sticks found in the yard. Yeah, at least our generation had an imagination.
Now I'm starting the whole experiance over again through the eyes of my 2 year old twin boys. Have I got the toys to show them when they "STOP BREAKING EVERYTHING.

You old fart. I had an "Erector Set" (it was the coolest thing!), a bicycle with a banana seat & a sissy bar, and a BB gun. There wasn't a chipmunk in MI that didn't fear my name. No, it wasn't the 80s.

Hey now, there were SOME toys that inspired imagination and creativity during the 80'*...I listed some of them already! Contrux, Capsella, even Legos can inspire young minds and help with problem solving skills.
Hot Wheels. Yeah, they did not originate in the 80'*. But the models with the hidden damage panels and the color-changing paint jobs DID.
Voltron? WHICH VERSION?? Lions or vehicle force?
www.toonamijetstream.com used to or still does air the original series
Keyracers. Diecast cars that had keyholes in the rearend. You stuck a key in it, then when you squeezed the key it would shoot out.
Oh, and, uh....My Little Pony. My sister ALWAYS had to get one whenever we went out shopping. At least it wasn't "Strawberry Shortcake"

Oh yeah, I can't tell you how many General Lees and K.I.T.T.* I had, I had the K.I.T.T. model that went into superpursuit mode and had all the falshing lights, would even drive around by it'* self.
Oh, and what about those matchbox type cars that would change color in cold/hot water? and "Sonic Flashers" the car that had flashing lights and sirens activated by pushing down on their wheels?

don't forget the smash up derby. i think mine were a 57 chevy and 57 ford. they had a centre wheel you ran a pullcord thru and when they hit the hood and doors flew off! i had hours of fun with them!
and of course the hot wheels tracks. set them up with the loops and the garage you shot them thru to give them power.
gee, with toys like that as a kid, i wonder how i became a car nut???

I still have some of the Hot Wheels cars that when you hit them, a body panel would flip over and show "damage".
And why the heck has no-one mentioned the Robotech stuff? I still have a Zentreadi warrior action figure somewhere in the garage. I think I might have one of the transforming aircraft, but I'm not sure whether mine is a Robotech piece or a Transformer. Starfire was just a recycled Battloid, and the toy had very few changes made to make it into Starfire.
