Who likes aged goodness??? (56k warning)
No, we're not talking ales, pilsners or wine here. We're talking good ol' bare bones, simple mechanics. We're talking an engine compartment you can literally sit in and not get stuck. We're talking cavernous interiors, and steel dashes.
A good older friend of mine (and my landlord, incidentally) has this car that he'* thinking about selling. The only two things on this car that is not completely original is the true dual exhaust he put on about 20 years ago, and the cloth he put on the vinyl seats. The vinyl is still original. The engine is the original 292 V8. I forget the year, early 60'* Ford Fairlane 500. Here'* some pics of the beast that could use a little cleaning up:
Exterior Walkaround:
My son checking out the sound of the dual exhaust
Interior Pics. The only thing not original is the cloth. Vinyl is orginal:
Original 292ci V8:
I'm seriously thinking about buying it when I get back on my feet. Although he'* wanting to sell it for more, he offered to sell it to me for only $3,000.
Ahhh, the things I could do to that engine, and wheels.... Keep the originals, of course. Throw a supercharger on that engine after a bit of engine work... Talk about your true sleeper...

Not quite my kind of car, but still cool. It would be awesome to own a car that is all original and hasn't been touched but is still in great shape.
