The Optima battery in my convertible isn't holding a charge very well after 10 years.

Have youse guys seen any difference in these batteries?

Thanks!

the Red Top is designed for the standard location for a car.....that means that the Red top is designed to start the vehicle and have a charge from the alternator

the yellow top is designed for a second battery, or a battery that is used when the vehicle is off....also known as a Deep Cycle battery

here is the link to Optima'* site

My yellow top hasn't failed me for 6 years and three dead alternators. Drove from the carwash, home, gas station, then 45 minutes on the highway before the voltage got below 10.5 this last time. Then I pulled over and waited for dad to show up with a spare.

Got the Yellow Top at the local parts store. $180 plus tax.

Yellow FTW. Mine has outlasted 2 cars, and still holds a perfect charge

My brain and heart said yes to an Optima battery, but my wallet said no

Red because I don't need a deep cycle, I don't want to stress my alt with having to charge up a deep cycle if I do leave the lights on, and it was a lot cheaper...
