Where do you draw the line?

Excellent so far guys! Let me point out that all these comments don't have to be positive! (Maybe there isn't much on the negative side that needs to be said, lol.)
Perhaps we can talk a little more exclusively about the online/offline dynamic that comes with being a forum member. Has BC (or any other forum) changed the amount of time you spend online? If so, has this been a good thing? All things considered, are you happy and satisfied with the time you spend online, or has it created problems in your offline life?
For example, I tend to spend a lot of time checking the BC forums. When I post in a topic I have the tendency to check back constantly to see if anyone has replied. It has created tension with my wife at times, because she would appreciate us having time together rather than me always surfing the internet. I have also realized that sometimes I'll sit at home and surf the internet (mainly BC) on a night with no homework, when I could be calling up a friend to hang out or doing some reading. Many times I wish I wasn't so hooked on this community, because I would remember to get other things done in life. However, I keep coming back. And honestly, I'm not always sure if it'* a good thing.
Let'* hear some other thoughts and personal experiences! This is great so far!

2) I don't spend much time here really, only when I need to read up on something or my favorite chat room is down (a chat thru a radio station)
3) this is the same question re-worded a 3rd time...
4) I don't know much about the site, but yeah it seems to run well. It has been helpful when I have needed it.
5) On-line friendships? They don't last. And most people find that the real life person is not as interesting as what they seemed over some forum. I have discovered that once or twice.
6) I try to have most of my internet time when the wife is at work. Online relationships do not come before real life, that is for sure

1.Do you really feel the site is addictive? Why or why not?
for me, in spurts... there are times when i would rather keep tabs on the site than hang out with friends... i could spend 6+ hours a day on BC no problem as long as other ppl are contributing... there are also days, when i get sick of all the bullshit, all the n00bs, that i just walk away and dont check in for the rest of the day... when getting back from a vacation, and i get back online and see 2000 or more posts, i only read about 10 before signing off, its overwhelming... however, if i am up to speed on all the posts, i will read ALL of them, even if they dont apply
2.Do you personally try to limit the amount of time you spend on the site?
no.... unless there is something going on that i need to be doing BC is like my other life
3.Is there such thing as "too much Bonneville Club,"?
no
4.I would also like to see some comments on why you feel the site keeps people coming back, and why things run so smoothly around here.
when you are at the point that you know more about your online friends than your real friends, you should start to question yourself... that is why it stays, its friendships.. and we are all unique yet strongly the same
5.Another interesting subject would be whether it is wise to develop strong friendships online,
see above
6.if online friendships cause a decline in time spent with offline friends or loved ones.
yes very possible...

If it weren't for BC.....I wouldn't have any of the Local friends around here that I do now....
Namely Gordy and Andrew (SSEi95 and Harofreak)
Wether it'* BC/Bonne related or not....We still hang out all the time...I'll drive an hour - hour 1/2 just to go to a party at Haro'* place with out thinking twice about it. With these two for sure...It'* definantly a friend ship past the point of owning the same vehicles and being affiliated with this forum.

1.Do you really feel the site is addictive? Why or why not? It doesn't interfere with my life or my job, so I'd say no. It'* nice to "hang out" here, but i'm not "addicted".
2.Do you personally try to limit the amount of time you spend on the site? I don't have to, as I don't have internet at home right now.
3.Is there such thing as "too much Bonneville Club,"? Again, if it interferes with the rest of your life, then yes.
4.I would also like to see some comments on why you feel the site keeps people coming back, and why things run so smoothly around here. Ask the mods...it doesn't always. What matters is that the problems are quickly taken care of, and no one makes a big deal of them. Most of us back the mods and admins, and I think that makes a big difference.
5.Another interesting subject would be whether it is wise to develop strong friendships online, I dated a BCer, and eventually got to meet him in person It was fun!

The story refers to BC, but any thoughts about forum use are welcome. It'* amazing that people keep coming back here as often as they do.... ask Lakeville and MyLittleBlackBird.... I was posting in the Lounge like crazy last night. I don't even know why!
