What a fun day
Started as any other did with school but after school I went to BioLife Plasma Services to sign up and start donating plasma. After registering I was reading through the liability papers (while standing) and completely blacked out.
Regained conscious a few seconds later and found a bunch of the staff around me and heard one yell for 911 to be called. I was then transported via paramedic to the hospital and checked out. They also drew my blood, checked blood sugar, and did a C.T. scan.
So now instead of making money by donating plasma I now owe money to the hospital. Great....

I've been donating for years, nearly 700 donations under my belt. I watched one guy come in. The poked his finger to test his blood. He passed out, fell forward and smashed his face on the counter, then fell back and smacked his head on the floor.

Ouch. The thing is they didn't even get near me with a needle or anything. I just randomly passed out.

Wow, problems with needles? I've seen a lot of things. One tech stuck me with the needle and then turned to get something from the cart. Her lab coat hooked the hose and yanked the needle out. I had no idea blood could shoot out of your arm so far. I sprayed her with blood real good.

Bri...it could have been much worse..like you fell and split your head open, or they found a brain tumor, or you had a cardiac event. Sometimes your body reboots for no apparent reason...it just happens.

I've been giving for years. Always worked at larger companies where the Red Cross comes in and it only takes a few minutes of time. Would be nice to make a little ching off it, but I see it as one of the few good deeds I can do.
