I said "Hey, if I work my *** off, can I take on 3/4 of the car payments, half the insurance, and pay half of the gas, and we call it mine?"
"Sure!"
So I drove that until January 16th when I blew 3 lifters..
Replaced all 16 of the bastards.
Then I got too deep in the hole after a rear differential (From hole shots, I grenaded the thing inside the case.. New axle required. Picked one up w/ 45K mi on it for $1,500)
A/c system overhaul was somewhere around $1,400
Other random various engine parts ; $3K
Etc
They helped me w/ the parts, but the truck was only driven once by them (up to Oshkosh, WI)
That, and to emissions testing
Otherwise, it was pretty much all me.
The BSMETER?
HAHAH!
Dude, i really did. I was in major love with it, it was such a beast
I bought the escort because I didn't wanna pay gas prices like that anymore.. $120 to fill the damned thing to the top
something like a 50some gallon tank in it..
I saw an escort some old lady down the street was selling for $800 so I jumped on it.
It had a new centerforce clutch in it, too >=]
five speed
was a fun two days

One of em, probably the worst...was a 1985 Nissan PickUp..2.4L 4 banger....somewhere around 100 hp...wow...i wish i had a pic....was my moms, but i took care of it...so here is the list in chronological order...
1: 1988 Ford Mustang LX 1992-1997 (I'll look for a pic) (Death: After a whole bunch of engine problems, like belts CONSTANTLY slipping off, timing belt broke 4 times, transmission was a JOKE!!, found out that it was in a 25+ H/O collision (Previous Owner))
2: 1985 Nissan P/U 2.4 L 2001-2002 (You don't want to see the pic...but i will post whne i find one) Death: 30 mph collision...my mom rear ended a Rav-4.(Brake-line broke and when we actually needed the brakes...well they were not there)...yes i was in the car...yes...ohhh yes collisions in a nissan truck REALLY hurt...(Good Tip: Don't Drive One)
3: 1990 Pontiac Sunbird LE Convertible 2002-2002 3 Months
2.0 4 banger 90 HP
(I have a pic...somewhere) Death: Car Suicide...Then Murder...MUHAHA! I have never seen more problems in a car before...ACTUALLY, the cooling fan shorted (in the rain) and the water pump died (almost at the same time) and the engine overheated....never worked right after that....then...i started beating the crap outa it...i got it started and had the engine revving and shifted it...did that a few times, then heard a REALLY loud noise...and well car down, CAR DOWN, for the last time.
4: 1990 Buick Electra Park Avenue Limited 2002-2002 3 weeks LN3 3800 165 HP
Death: Stolen...that car was in PERFECT condition....the picture shown is a KBB picture..but it was that color, in that condition, so why not portray it with water...
5: 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera International Series 2002-2005 3300 160 HP
Death: SERIOUSLY VANDALIZED!!! Sorry no pics of that...too emotional to remember the camera...that was SUCH a nice car...i miss it much....
6: 1989 Pontiac Bonneville LE 3800 Dec 2005 - Current LN3 165 HP
Current Vehicle...
And that is where the line ends for now...moneys in the works for a newer Bonne....oh yeah, it will happen...someday...

First Car: 1978 GMC with Modded 454 lots of friggin low end torque...thru a rod
no photo...
Second Car: 1987 Olds 98 Coupe --- lasted like 2 years until the trans died at 220k or so
Third Car: 1989 Bonneville LE -- It was t-boned but I bought it anyway as a beater for around town....driver door did not open becuase it was hit at 40MPH by a sunfire lol. Ran perfect though...strongest trans i have ever driven in...only a $100 car
Number 4 (still have): 1994 Olds 88, I was looking all around for a SSEi but never could find one or even a bonneville, I stumbled across it and thought it was a bonneville from the side but then said screw it..fired it up and it ran smoother than any car I have heard...ever....IT also had been sitting for 5 years..25,000 miles and 18 months later it still runs perfect and has never needed a major repair other than new brake pads and oil changes.
Number 5: 1995 Olds LSS-SC..trans as on its way out..died....also paid $100 for this one. The mananger at some transmission shop bought it for $500
did I mention it also came with a spare Gen 3 supercharger???
Number 6: 1994 Bonneville SSEi was a great car for $500..did not last more than a month or so with my driving habits, I bought it with a bad trans and it had no oil pressure and overheated.....trans line blew and lost nearly all the fluid....refilled replaced cooling line sorta came back to life but then the LIM (i think) took a dump and I said the h*ll with this and sold it on ebay for more than I paid lol.
Number 7: well its the charm. I will leave it at that...
That is 7 cars in 3 years or so lol.
