worked on the uim/lim, got it done 10 to 7 we worked on it and had to run to town to get fuel line crap and i forgot to tell to get oil change stuff and i forgot till we mostly had it back together to put the elbows in. had to take the tensioner off to put them on.
cant get to the back plugs on this car though its turning out to be the biggest pain in the butt on the car. had everything apart and couldnt get enough of a grip to get the wires off. so i said screw it and am going to try from underneath when i jack it up to work on the cat tomorrow

justin, i have found actually sitting on the engine helps. that was the only way to get enough leverage with laurens impala. that 3.8 is wedged in there like a fat chick in spandex.

Ya Justin sounds like a real hard days work..been there too..how is your back doing?
On the PA I had the plugs ready to go in and once LIM was off, it was way easier on that car at least to get the rear plugs out...
Good luck on Cat & plugs tomorrow!

certainly wouldnt call it enjoyment. when i did the stock wires on my bonnie they were on good but there was room to pull on them from the top between the valve covers and the firewall, this car has a bracket that is attached with some sensors that you cant get to the bolts, its on the back side of the rear valve cover. and there is the wire harness and heater hoses, dont know why they had to out everything right in the way.

finished the buick at 8 last night, the plugs and wires were the hardest part on the whole car. thanks GM for making a normal maintenance thing so easy. i had the cat done well before lunch, the back plugs and wires took the rest of the time. after i took the sec air inj stuff apart and bent the bracket down and i still couldnt get the wires off, until i got my neighbor whos got smaller arms to get it done. at least after all that, the new maf, and crank sensor the thing runs good again, his inspection runs out on thursday

I got the last thing I need to do to get my car inspected done today, had to pay 57.00 total to get a small L-Bracket, 2 bolts, and 2 clip/nuts shipped to me.
As close as my nearest local salvage yard is it was worth ordering them and waiting on them.
The L-Bracket #12 in this pic cost me 27.00, and the clip/nuts, and bots were 3.00 each, shipping was 17.95, but it was 2 day shipping, you have to love getting parts from the stealerships.
Now I just need to get my tires Friday and finally I can get rid of this ugly rejection sticker.
Question, I know local laws vary, but can't you have 2 working side vie mirrors that can see at least 200 feet behind you, and not need to have the middle/rear view mirror up?
I could have sworn this was the law here in VA, but the guy that inspected my car said that law changed, I am pretty sure he was full of it...

I added a new aux input jack to my Yukon. I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't take any pictures. The previous owner had installed a 3.5mm jack to the factory sterio using the audio signal that comes from the XM module. The only problem is that he didn't use shielded audio cable just three wires to the jack and he left the jack behind the radio and just stuck the pach cable out from under the dash. This worked fine other than the pach cable was a little short for my liking, when you didn't have something plugged in it picked up a ton of static, and you couldn't listen to XM if you wanted to. So I did some research and Switchcraft offers a 5 pin audio jack that switches signals when something is plugged in it uses that signal, when nothing is plugged in the signal just passes through the jack. So with a little soldering and a sacrificed audio pach cable I now can have my XM and listen to what ever audio device.
If anyone is interested in adding a aux imput this way PM me and I will give you instructions on how I did mine. Like I said I was in a bit of a hurry and wish I had more time to take pics to show how easy it is.
