Or stop leaving good stuff in there.
Oh I installed a nice buick mat into the trunk of the Regal this weekend. Last night I picked up an 8 foot painting pole in with the seats down. fits great.

All depends on the area. I have frequently left my keys in the car etc and had it sit out overnight. Leave windows down etc w/o problems. I'm in a good neighborhood and for the most part, no one messes with property.

I put a club on my wheel and lock all the doors. I'm still afraid at night. Here in the Bronx, mechanics send their friends out to take parts off of cars. This especially affects town car/panther owners, since livery cab drivers are a lucrative set for mechanics and beat the **** out of their cars.

This used to be a town were you could leave doors unlocked, keys in the car, etc. Not so much anymore. We have had a generator stolen, gas stolen (wait till they find out its mixed 2 cycle gas!), car parts stolen, and I've had to call the cops twice when suspicious unmarked roll backs show up poking around where my Regal sits at about 4am.
Our neighbors are morons, but fairly poor morons. All my cars have locking gas caps. (I know, its not hard to get past, but you need a functioning brain to do it.) I wouldn't put it past them to either try and get something out, or to be jerks and dump something in.
Both the Regal and the Cruiser have custom anti-theft switches and tricks wired in, and the Cruiser has added on sensors for the factory alarm. (Easy trick to do.)
If I'm at work, we have an employee lot, where workers know who everyone elses car is, so we watch out for our own there, plus we have the cameras. But if its anywhere else, all the electronics disappear from prying eyes. Where I used to work, we would get waves of thieves stealing stuff out of unlocked cars. One time, they got caught with almost 10 credit cards, a few hundred in cash, and some random items. And this place was in a lot about 50' from the police station! Either stupid or ballsy.
I knew where the outside cameras were in that place, so I was always sure to park in close range of one, just in case.

im kinda spoiled , parking at work is fenced in and i park in garage at night. the only time i lock the doors is if i have to park outside at night for what ever reason.
