I agree with this law as well, yes. There are too many people out there that can barely drive as it is.
Granted, there are some who could read the entire Encyclopedia Britanica and still drive like a pro. But, some laws have to be set for the lowest common denominator, and I personally don't like the idea of somebody watching TV or a movie and trying to drive at the same time. AT least not while I have to share the road with them....

Yea,there are enough bad drivers out there that keep two hands on the wheel and both eyes forward, but putting tv'* in there is like putting a blindfold over them and telling them "to use the force" Plus, dont you need special permission to have the airbag deactivated, and only a dealership may do so?

just because the tv is in the steering wheel doesnt mean the driver has it on while driving.......you guys are automatically assuming that the tv is on while driving and if thats the case you should only get punished if you are caught with the tv on...

I am assuming it will be on, thats why its there in the first place. Soo, if it wasnt on, then they only need tvs in the trunk and headrests. And the thing is, only punishing someone that has the tv on is going to be hard to catch and most likely, it would be too late by the time the driver slams into someone.
Someone could say they have drugs in their possesion but not using them. They are still commiting an illegal activity.

so if i am driving the speed limit and the cop assumes that 1 mile up the road i am going to speed so pull him over now and give him the ticket..... right.....cause thats what your saying.....we can assume all we want but its our right to have the choice ( innocent until proven guilty).....the tv could just be there for show or to park and comfortably watch tv in front of your face......

If an airbag is not necessary for the driver, the driver must get a written permisison from the NHTSA then the driver can take the car down to a shop and have a switch installed. These are under the conditions that your pregnant, old, or very sick,etc.... Which if I recall, the show'* cut off date was the age of 23. So, in this case it looks like the 'Pimp my ride' garage was not getting permission and there was not a valid reason to remove airbags, not even for little cool tv'*. Your correct, its your right to do this or not, but when someone crashes and gets seriously injured, you know who will be blamed and make a big deal out of it and slap a lawsuit on the garage.
No, I didnt mention anything about speeding. It is hard to go the same speed without using cruise control.
