The only positive thing I can think of is that my sister-in-law has one, that she loves. Personally, I wouldn't own one and would strongly discourage my kids from getting one. Chrysler'* transmissions suck, the headlights will turn yellow, they don't do well in crashes (as you've heard), and many other problems. Oh, another positive...the price is right.

Selling the Neon is also NOT an option. My fiance likes it, and it'd probably hurt his dad'* feelings if we got rid of it. I am well aware of the REALLY CRAPPY accident ratings, and both me AND his father have warned him to be careful.

Archon, thank you for your input as well The transmission has been replaced, as have the headlight covers. It has one tiny dent, otherwise it looks brand new.

About the headlight covers, about once a month spritz them with carb cleaner then wipe it off. I've been doing that and it keeps them relatively clear. Don't let the cleaner on the paint.

i drove my friends neon......ugh. drove it for a couple of hours...and hated it. worked on it too...brakes, oil, etc. nevertheless, there'* one person for every car out there...in the case of the bonnie, yeesh!, there'* a whole stinking swarm!
