We almost got a 05 300C Touring, but of course being 4 years older, this was cheaper.
My aunt has a 04 300M with the Sport package on it. I like her'* more than this one. I don't like gold on this bodystyle.

Post merger with DaimlerBenz, I have not been worried about reliability. I've watched the 300M Specials closely since the Special was introduced in 01 and havent heard the same kind of complaints from the early to mid 90s.
In fact, a fellow ACNA member bought a Special after his 99 Aurora was wrecked and he couldnt be happier. Personally I think its one of the most attractive domestic sedans and the 255 HO 3.5 V6 with shiftronic is pretty peppy. The exhaust on the Special is tweaked and coicendently the Infiniti G35/Nissan 350Z has the same sounding exhaust...its aurally amazing.
I almost bought one last summer but couldnt get the $$ I wanted for the Aurora.

Yeah unfortunatly we will never get the money we want for the Aurora. Lady down the road has a 300M special and I always check it out when I drive by.

I was close to buying a 300M. That and the Aurora were my other two choices along with the Bonneville after I wrote off the Lincoln LS due to my concern about expensive service being related to the Jaguar. The 300M drives nice, pretty close to the Bonnies. The two things that scared me away other than the fact it'* a Chrysler was that you have to change the timing belt by 100K miles or there is a good chance it will grenade your engine. And might as well do the water pump and some pulleys while you're at it; which will drain your wallet for close to a grand; and also the A/C evaporator is prone to failing; which is also just about a grand to fix because the dash has to be taken out. Then you have to hope they didn't screw up anything electrical in the process.
