Vacation Ideas...
Alright so I was planning to go to disney from August 3-8, but its becoming far too expensive. Now I'm asking for a little help, does anyone know where a 19 year old guy and a 17 year old girl can go for a fairly inexpensive vacation. I am located in NY and I dont want to drive my bonnie anywhere. The cost of Disney was about $1500 after taxes and all that, and it just a little too much. Throw some ideas out there. We are into anything really, hiking, theme parks, nature is not a problem...

If you were both 19, I would have suggested Niagara Falls as that is the drinking age. Other place i enjoyed is Ocean City, MD. Rates there aren't too bad (I recommend Atlantic Oceanfront Inn) and there is normal beach stuff to do. There is a buss that runs the entire island and it is inexpensive and fun to ride.

I'm not sure if it'* really a good idea, or your thing, but Mackinac Island, Michigan is a nice place to hang out. For some reason it was the first thing that came to mind. Touristy on the main drag (granted, there are no cars), old fashion in some parts and biking around the island is fun (tandum bike rentals are great). Anything on the island is really expensive, but there is plenty of hotels and what not off the island so it could be affordable. Plus, Mackinaw Crossings is in the city on the mainland. I think it was modeled after Disney, but I haven't been to Disney to tell you for sure.
Another idea, is Cedar Point, if you haven't been there. I thought it was fun, but lines are a pain! I've also hear about people renting cabins in Canada-they always have fun (wonder why ?).

are you close to an ocean? My family goes to a beach every year and rents a house on the sand, its a blast. You can fish, swim, tan, basically relaxing. My idea of a vacation is just sitting around and doing nothing though.
