LOL..true about Detroit but...
Any kind of felony takes away from the festival, instead of focusing on the music and the people, attention is diverted to who was killed, was cars, houses and businesses were vandalized, what teenager girl was sexually assaulted and what burned down. All I remember about Woodstock 99 is when those asshats decided to set sh*t on fire and torch the damn place.
Not my idea of a good time.
Correction on the people 490 000 took part

Gotta agree with 89Bonnie on this one! When I go to a show, I'm there for the show. Not to fight, break stuff, etc.
If I want to hang out with a bunch of people acing stupid, I'll hang out with my first wife'* family...

Guess Who were great - glad to see them back in action. American Woman was amazing.
ush - not a fan, but crowd liked them. Good rendition of Tom Sawyer and YYZ.
Isley Brothers - thought they were dead, but wow did they do a good job.
Timberlake - didnt watch his act (was lining up for a hot dog) but heard he got a lot of water bottles thown at him. Also, when he came out with the Stones, more water bottles. Keith Richards got ticked at some ppl...
AC/DC: never dreamed they could put on the show that they did. ALMOST upstaged the Stones, and that isn't easy. Angus came out with the Stones to play a BB King cover - unbelievable!!!
Rolling Stones: wow. Best versions of: Satisfaction, Sympathy for the Devil, Ruby Tuesday and You Can't Always Get What You Want that I have ever heard!! For a 60-yr-old, Mick can still keep up with everything. Saw them for Voodoo Lounge, but this was better I think.
...i was about 1/2 way between the stage and the end of the crowd (speaker tower 403 if you were there), and could see and hear just fine. Hard to make out who was who on the stage, but the massive video board in front of me was great. No delay effect from other speakers - really well done.
As far as getting home - no problems. Took 20 mins to get out of the park - all walking time, no waiting. From there, an hour to where I parked (didnt want to take the buses - all backed to the gills), jumped on the 401 back to Waterloo with no traffic at all.
For an event that received just over 6 weeks of planning, I am amazed at how well it went off. Great bands, good times, phenominal value.

Kick *** Nick...nice to hear from a member that attended the concert. Although there were concerns of logistical nightmares, but I guess it wasn't. It was definitely the talk of the office.
Even tho I'm not a fan of Justin, the bottles were not necessary...I mean c'mon. Oh well, lol, Keith flipped cuz one of the bottles thrown at Justin during the Stones'* set hit Keith. He reemed out the concert goer, then told him he loved him....
very cool
I hope they do SarsStock every 4 years now...lol

I saw some of it on the tube... I think that The Guess Who rocked.
I live within spitting (well, err, medium-long walk/short drive) distance from Downsview Park... so I couldn't go anywhere that night - traffic would have been a complete and utter bitch.
And the fact that boobage was shown on family-oriented programs/channels/news programs... classic
