Tornado in Ames... Now this!
Here are some pictures from my town yesterday. I did not capture an image of a funnel, but we saw one about a mile west of my apartment that swirled down about halfway to the ground and then went back up into the clouds. The weather was pretty wild. Here are two images, and I hope they somewhat captured the freakiness of the whole thing. Keep in mind, these clouds are VERY low, and reportedly moving 55mph.
In the second picture on the left side, you can see a little patch of whispy clouds that was being sucked up into the rest of the storm. There were little patches like this that would spin or move straight up, which was pretty crazy. I'm also including a link to a local news station. Go to the page, then click on the video title "November Tornadoes" on the left side of the screen.

*The first camera shots in that video are looking down a street close to my apartment! The houses in the background of my pictures are part of the housing subdivision that is shown in the video. We really missed the worst of it!

Goodness gracious..... leave it to an automotive forum to pick out the half-snow-covered cars in the parking lot That'* good stuff!
Yes, it'* a Cutlass Ciera, and I was riding in it on Saturday after the storm. The guy who owns it went tornado chasing with his wife. I forget what year it is, but it'* still a pretty nice ride.

It ended up snowing all day yesterday, and through a lot of last night. Winds were blowing at 35+ mph, so it made for some crazy road conditions. So I present this, exactly 4 days after a TORNADO.
Saturday the high was 66 degrees; today, the projected high is 26 degrees. If I wasn't here, I almost wouldn't believe it. It'* true: if you don't like the weather in the Midwest, come back tomorrow.
