the only engines i have blown was in my old jeep, expensive learning. too high rpm+ too high water/mud = two connecting rods exiting through the oil pan

Ive seen that many times with race motors, the bearing spins and gets hot trying to weld the rod to the crank which tends to put a ton of side force in the piston breaking it and then the rod turns into a wrecking ball. Or as Smokey Yunick used to call it "oil pan failure"

I just threw away the block and pan from my last race motor a few weeks ago. There was only about 3/4 of an inch of sheet metal connecting the front of the oil pan to the rest of the pan assy.
