Back in the bad old days, when my friends and I "may" have "experimented" with different mind altering substances or the occasional cold adult beverage (or 10), all my friends would ask me why I didn't have my car tinted, or jacked up, or lowered or a killer stereo, etc. My response was very simple, "never give them a reason to stop you." Then there'* no reason for them to look in your car or give you a hard time. I was religious about checking all my lights, turn signals, etc. All my stuff worked, all the time.
It'* a real simple concept. Don't speed, don't weave, don't do ANYTHING to attract attention to yourself and you can avoid any conversations with your local law enforcement.
IF you are stopped, your ONLY answers are yes sir, yes ma'am, no sir, no ma'am or any such respectful answer. You can be right or you can be free. Your choice.

If my car looked like that in the back I would be paying someone to drive me around. This brings up a lot of other conditionals that I won't get into to.

The lesson in all of this is to get a 9C1 as your next car. People stay behind you on the highway . It comes in handy, although a caveat to this is the cops will see you doing 65 while everyone else is doing way less than the speed limit. This all balances out though, people seem to give you the right of way when you're making a left at an intersection.

If you get one that isn't driven to snot, they're good for customizing. 9c1'* have a slightly higher clearance and heavy duty suspension components that audio modders like to use on civilian impalas, as well as bigger alternators and stock steelies (you won't miss em much if you put better wheels on). Not to mention the 3800 from 2000-2005 and the 3900 in the new ones.

This is why I like having cars that aren't too flashy.
Only reason cops follow you is if they think they can catch you doing something wrong. And in that car, normally Buicks aren't cop bait unless you give them reason.
2 speeding tickets in my 87 TR, but no tint ticket (20% all around).
1 Loud exhaust ticket in my 4 door 73 Electra (it has a 455 with duals, what did they expect it to sound like?)
Nothing in the Roadmaster Estate, except a warning for a turn signal out I think.
Nothing (so far) in the LeSabre. It has no tint on any window, but it does have 6k 35W HIDs and 55W halogen fogs. But, nothing so far in the year+ I've had them. (Knock on wood...)
I do have the power 6 sticker on the rear window (small one, by the center brake light) and the GMForums stickers on the rear 1/4 glass. But nothing that really stands out.
But, it does have large vinyl stickers on the front doors that have a non smoking symbol and "No smoking in company vehicles" on it. I've been asked if it was a former undercover car. Not that I'm aware of, but I definitely get asked a lot about it. Maybe some more antennas and ditch the stickers. Would look the part, anyway. I've seen LeSabres used as detective cars in NY, LA, and a few other cities. Basic model, but with GT suspensions, HO alternator, and some dash mounted gear, with an antenna or 2 out on the trunk. Almost all were silver or white, with a few dark blue ones.
If anyone has seen CSI, Detective Jim Brass drove one in the first few seasons, actually.
