This'll scare the life outta ya
I was on my way to work yesterday and almost witnessed my 6th accident this year (which I would have been a part of!) I was on a 55 MPH street and was coming up to a 3-way intersection. The road I was on has the right-of-way and the side street had a stop sign.. Well, a Toyota Camry was pulling out onto the road I was driving on turning left, and a Dodge Caravan was coming down the road (I'm guessing the camry driver did not see it) . anyway, the camry pulls right out in front of the Dodge caravan as teh caravan was probably only 50 feet away.. anyway, the Caravan slams on its brakes and swerves around the Camry DIRECTLY into my lane of traffic. By the time this happend I had a split second to react and go off to the right side of the road off the road to avoid hitting the Van headon at 55 MPH. (we were both probably going 55 MPH.) THat would have really been a bad accident.. a head on collision with both cars going 55. Luckily the Riviera sustained no damage, nor did any of the other cars. Just freaks me out that I came within a few feet of being hit head on.
what really puzzles me is that even if there wasn't that Dodge Caravan in the picture, that Camry still would have cut me off.

Glad there was a bit of luck on your side. I've had some close calls (most of which I wouldn't been at fault), and it'* reminded me that you are the only one who can look out for yourself, even though sometimes that'* good enough. Even though you have the right away, it doesn't change the fact that your car is smashed or, worse yet, someone is hurt. Don't ya just hate drivers who aren't thinking sometimes? yikes!
