Think she'll make it? UPDATED
Tomorrow AM my wife and I are heading to Kansas City, MO in our 93 Bonnie. With 167K she'* purring along quite nicely. Transmission is getting a little sloppy, but otherwise in excellent condition. I hope the fuel pump or water pump doesn't go out. It'* a 12 hour drive and will end up being about 1,700 miles by the time we return on Monday.
I'm going to change the oil tonight and grease it. Rotate the tires too. I'll check tranny and coolant fluids as well. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, and O2 sensor are all within 12,000 miles old. Otherwise, anyone have any other ideas of things to look for/check?

Make sure she is hydrated, and bring a hat or visor. The sun really gets in your eyes, with the lack of trees along the interstate and highways......really the lack of anything.

Sounds Good. While you're rotating the tires, check the tire pressure(about 32 PSI is good). Also, make sure you check the Spare Tire Too(60 PSI). Other than that, just take your cell phone with you and call us when you get there. Have a safe trip

Well, she made it out there and back without a single issue!!!
We put 1,725 miles on her in 4 days. 14 hours out there and 11.5 hours back. Didn't do much stopping, just for gas. The temp guage never climbed past 195 degrees.
Averaged 33.5 MPG!!!!!!! I was VERY happy about that. I wasn't going easy on her either....drove between 75 and 88 MPH the entire trip!!
These 3800s never cease to amaze me. They're one hell of a machine!
