lol we had a Ford Ranger 2002 with the 2.3 and that happened at about 40K. One day the damn thing wouldnt do anything, so the dealer replaced just about everything cept the engine. How true 
Silly Fords and there problems, thank god for warranties. Its been since replaced with a 2003 *-10 Crew Cab Vortec.
